KeymasterYeah wow – never seen that one before. Looks like a cliche poster for a 90’s action flick. Heh heh, cool.
Jason Stringer
KeymasterHeh heh. Too easy.

KeymasterLinda Blair briefly talks about this kinda stuff in the audio interview I recently posted. She says how kids sit down expecting a monster movie and do not ‘get’ the spirituality of the film – something that is drastically missing from Western youth today.

KeymasterIt’s an easy switch back to the old look if we want. Was just trying this on for size, so don’t worry if you don’t like it. Please let me know if you’d like to go back to the original.

KeymasterThe most confusing thing, then, is the trailer(s), which clearly state “One hope. The Only Hope… The EXORCIST” while showing the classic shot of MERRIN arriving.
I’m not going to debate Karras is the exorcist (in fact, that’s kinda cool), but in terms of marketing, the studio definitely had everyone believing otherwise. Especially as, in the film, Merrin has a heroic, ‘here to save the day’ arrival.

KeymasterAww so cute. She was perfect for those ads!

KeymasterVery nice edit, Justin. I just watched TVYNS again last night (for the first time in a while) and I am convinced more than ever that the spider walk scene is so out of place and sticks out like a sore thumb. Ellen’s performance both leading up to the moment and tailing out of it are not the best, and the climax doesn’t add anything at all to the story or the flow of the film.
It was cool to see – but I really think it distracts from a quality film. In my opinion, Friedkin was absolutely right to cut the spiderwalk scene back in ’73.

KeymasterYep. One of my favorites, that one.

Keymasteryou’ll see it on the main page, guaranteed.

KeymasterI think that Linda Blair’s beauty was about the only saving grace of (Heretic).
I wholeheartedly agree! There are many other positive points about Heretic, but Linda Blair is about the only reason I ever watch it.
