NBC’s Today show aired a short piece on Linda Blair on October 10, 2012.
The segment, titled From Devil To Angel, focused on Linda’s World Heart Foundation and the dog sanctuary she has founded in southern California.
During the interview Linda likens her passion for helping unwanted animals to being in the public eye after The Exorcist was released.
I had so much prejudice against me that was obviously not true. I was so controversial and it really wasn’t who I was. That’s why I fight for the dogs. I understand it. That’s why I fight for the underdog.
The segment features some behind-the-scenes footage of Linda on the set of The Exorcist at age 14, in possession make-up and using the convulsion rigging (including the snippet of her crying because the thrusting was hurting her back), but there’s no footage we haven’t seen already.
It’s great to see Linda’s humanitarian efforts still being recognized with attention like this. She’s clearly passionate about it and it shows in her continued efforts.
