After the birds drawing, Karras looks at the drawing of the winged lion or dog (I think lion; it kind of has a mane) Y’all know who this is don’t you? Our very own Captain Howdy/Pazuzu. The statue in Iraq seems to have the head of a lion or dog and of course wings. Regan knew what was coming. Her artwork and the things on the walls are full of Pazuzu imagery. Lots of birds (Demon of the wind), red riding hood and the wolf (little girl befriended and used by a beast), something behind Karras as he talks to Chris with a longish nose like the red bird sculpture. The demon was everywhere in the house long before it fully entered Regan.

Are you sure that’s Dietz with the makeup ripped away? It seems to be Linda in the shot immediately preceeding, when her head is turned to her left and the vomit begins to ooze. Then she turns to her right–towards Merrin–and that’s Dietz?
