It’s not to say that all younger people don’t get it,

      but as Ghetto analyzes

, it’s a new generation now that has grown up on blood and gore and simple philosophies that if it’s not “fixed” in under 30 minutes, then it’s crap because the attention span is lacking. God help some of them that are “tied and bound” to watch Citizen Kane

Uh, I thought that was my analyzes

Hi Ratboy. Although I’m not sure I appreciate your analysis of the younger generation (I’d like to consider myself to young) I think your characterization of remake is spot on. The Dennings death scene WILL DEFINITELY be in the remake I can say this at least. The idea of making Merrin struggle with pedophilia is also interesting was there any hint of this in the book at all?

    dseabroo,

I’m truly sorry if you were oiffended by my analysis but you clearly proved my point by stating that you wanted a onscreen brutal death scene of Burk Dennings and that Father Merrin would be more interesting character if he was a pedaphile.

I think it’s because kids today lack imagination because they grew up on video games and they lack an attention span that our generation is acustumed to… not to mention that they have no respect for the past.

For example, if a movie looks too dated from the era it was filmed in such as the 70s such as The Exocist or Halloween, they’ll turn it it off and crave a remake with more gore and characters wearing today’s fashion and cell phones. They just can’t identify with a character unless they’re angsty, whiny and caries a cell phone.

Kids today thinks that Rob Zombies crappy Halloween remake is superior and regards the original to be a borefest.

It’s because they lack the imagination to comprehend the suspence of that era and also because there’s no torture porn nor tons of blood and gore like Rob Zombie’s crappy remake.

Also they find honerable heroic characters such as Jamie Lee Curtis’s Laurie Strode unrealistic and can better relate to the unlikable, whiney, angsty characters from the remake.

If the Exorcist were ever to be remade. Chris McNeal would have to a sleazy character that sleeps around with every guy in town. Father Merrin has to be an insane altar boy molesting priest. Lt Kinderman would have to be a younger hardass cop and Karris would have to be a constant drunk… otherwise the generation Y crowd won’t find these characters interesting.

Also, the remake would need to have much more gore and Burke Dennings murder scene must be shown on screen and it has to be a brutal death scene because everything must be spoonfed to them because they lack the imagination.

And when that day comes, they’ll hail the remake a masterpiece and the original will be regarded as a boring movie with unrealistic characters.

Well fatherbowdern, she was a very unpleasant person and after seeing her hideous picture… I have a better understanding on why she treats people that way on the internet.

The discussion has long been deleted but I will give a recap.

She told me that The Exorcist was too insignificant to have it’s own wikia and that there already was an Exorcist article on their Horror Movie Wikia.

I then asked her why she allowed fans of “Legally Blond” to have their own wikia.

She told me because Legally Blond had more than one movie therefore it’s a film series.

I then told her that The Exorcist had 5 movies, therefore making it a longer film series spanning over three decades.

She came back with with a reply stating that all the Exorcist sequels were all failures, therfore rendering the series too insignificant to have it’s own wikia.

I then asked her if failure plays a factor.. then why did she allow not only one… but two wikias dedicated to that Bionic Woman remake that was cancelled after only 6 episodes because of low viewership…. is that not considered a failure?

At that point, she must have blown a fuse with me and told me that no is her final decision told me to drop it and threatened to IP ban me if I kept bringing up this discussion.

Well let me tell you. For a web a website that claims to be fair and unbias, there sure seems to be alot of biasism going around on the admins behalf.

    Wow !!!

It’s been almost a year since I posted this suggestion and watched it fall off this forum because I thought everyone must have thought it was a bad idea and was just being too nice and/or courtious by not replying and telling me it was a stupid idea.

Well to make a longstory short…. with no support, presented and requested permission to start an Exorcist Wiki and the Admin , Angela pratically belittled me in public and told me that The Exorcist wasn’t significant enough to have it’s own wiki….. or something to that effect.

So for a while there, I was fealing like an idiot .

Some fans made a wikipedia website for the band Nine Inch Nails that I visit regularly (www.ninwiki.com) and it’s really convenient – all relevant information in one useful place.

Now I feel like an idiot again. According to this Wiki, my favorite NIN CD (Broken) isn’t even considered a CD.

However, I seem to to noticed that the NINwiki failed to mention that Richard Patrick is the brother of the Legendary Robert Patrick.

Yeah I Just joined just to check the place out.

It looks like it’s been deserted for for over a year. The only activity there is postings from slutty spambots.

Actually we, as an audience aren’t suppose to know what exactly is Michael Myers. That’s the appeal to it and in this case less is more. It’s for the viewers to speculate.

The idiotic no talent hack, Rob Zombie publically bashes the original and felt that Michael needed a backstory and a motivation and he gave that story in the most white trashy clitched manner.

Demystifying Michael Myers is the most idiotic thing to do but considering that it was done by classless moron like Rob Zombie, I’m not that surprised by the result.

I liked The Beginning better than Dominion also.

Harlem is a great action movie director and did a great job with Die Hard and Cliffhanger but he’s hardly the suspence/horror diretor.

But in Schrader’s defense, Dominion was more or less just a rough cut and didn’t look like it was complete.

I think McG did an allright job taking over the Terminator franhise.

However, I don’t think I want him touching The Exorcist.
