Arg! I’m jealous! I want to visit there one day, when I can get the scratch together — and when the kids get old enough.
It was quite an experience. A must visit location for any fan.
The stairs were scary because the incline/pitch has very high and very steep. I’m afraid of heights as it is and it took me four beers to work up the courage to climb those stairs.
There’s no way anyone can survive a fall down those stairs.

These are great, Rat Boy – when did you take them? Thanks Captain. I took those pics on December 26,2009, the 36th anniversary.
Here’s some more pics:

As you can see, the current owners of the McNeal house replaced the cast iron fence with a solid black pvc fence.
They probably did this because they were tired of fanboys like me taking pictures.
I have more pictures of the McNeal house to post.

ParticipantI’m not a tech garu and I’ve been reading some debate on which version should be released onto Bluray but ….couldn’t they just remaster the original version and TVYNS and release them onto one disk with an option to which version the viewer wishes to watch?
RatBoy
ParticipantIt really doesn’t specify how different the early draft is from the final version that made it on to screen (storywise).
Also 250 bucks is way way way too high for a script that isn’t even autographed by any cast or crew.
Lynda Blair claims that EII was a better story before all the revisions and I’d like to see that for myself.

ParticipantThanks fatherbowdern.
IMO EIII:Legion is very underated movie despite a few inconsistancies.
It doesn’t come close to the original … but it’s still a worthy follow up.
I like watching EIII back to back with TVYNS. Those extended scenes with Dyer and Kinderman really ties into Legion.
What I also liked was the last scene of The Exorcist was Father Dyer walking past and looking at the stairs and then the first scene of Legion was Father Dyer 17 years later walking past the same stairs.

ParticipantHi Bowden, I rewatched it last night and Karras’s taped was specifically mentioned in dialogue between Kinderman and another priest.
Also I won’t go into too much detail but the crucified boy at the beginning is the connection to Karras’s tape.
RatBoy
ParticipantDidn’t this recording play a semi significant role in Exorcist III:Legion in connection to a certain Gemini killing victim?
RatBoy
ParticipantI didn’t think ETB was that bad. It’s not as good as EIII:Legion but not nearly as bad as EII:The Heretic.

ParticipantWell that latest crappy X-Files movie probably would have worked better as a Millenium episode.

ParticipantDid I just step into bizaro world?
Why is everyone all of the sudden craving the no talent scumbag hacks from Hollywood to remake this movie.
All remakes suck!!!
RatBoy
ParticipantThank you FB.
Do you think the title of the third documentary on my wish list is too long?
RatBoy
Participant1) A mini documentary entitled “Exorcist II: A Public Apology”.
2) A mini documentary entitled “Legion: A Public Apology to Mr. Blatty and the Fans for losing All the Footage from the Original Cut”.
3) A mini documentary entitled “Exorcist:The Remake: A Public Apology to Mr. Blatty, Mr Freidken and the all Fans for even considering to Remake/Re-Imagine a classic to cater to a more Disrespecting Younger Generation of Moviegoers who lack the ability to grasp the concept of any Classic Horror because they are Too Pig-headed to Appreciated anything that was made more than than 5 years ago and who Lacks the Attention Span unless There’s massive Gore and Pedaphile Priests and unlikable Angsty Disfunctional Characters”.
4) The deleted Chris and Reagan touring Washington DC scenes.
5) Any additional Karras, Dyer and Kinderman interaction scenes that establishes their early early friendship.
6) Menu option that allows viewers to choose which version to watch, the original or TVYNS.

Participant- Billy Dee Williams WANTED to play Two-Face. He even signed a 2 picture deal, for the chance to play Two-Face in a sequel. He was bought out, so that Tommy Lee Jones could be brought in.
Yeah, but Burton still got it wrong and it was totally unfaithfull to the source material casting a black man as Harvey Dent in the first place.
And then casting a white man as Two Face in the third movie was totally inconsistant and a major contradiction to the first crappy movie and Tommy Lee Jones’ portrayal of the characyer sucked.
And the current Joker is not faithful to the comics, nor is the way Dent becomes Two-Face. But I am ok with those changes. Two Face’s origions may not have been faithful but the performance and the overall character was way better and more faithfull than the crappy Burton/Schumaker movies.
And I thought Heath Ledger’s Joker was spot on. His origions was never fully explained but I found the characterization of the Joker to alot more faithfull than Jack Nicholson’s horrible performance.
In fact, I thought Jack Nicholson sucked as the Joker.
Bale’s Batman voice can be hard to understand, and is already being spoofed on Youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yv8aT0UFc .Yeah, I’ll agree that Bale’s Bat voice bothered me sometimes. He got it right in the first movie but kind of fudged it up on this movie.
And that youtube clip was funny.
For the record, being a Batman fan since I was a child in the 70’s, I do feel Burton’s film were over-rated, and that Bale is the best Batman.I thought the Burton Batman movie was pure crap. It’s almost as campy as that awful Adam West series.

Participant-
I think it will hold up no problem.
I loved it and so far it’s been the closest to the source material. I’d still like to see if Frank Miller pulls off “The Spirit”. Then maybe he can do “The Dark Knight Returns” even though all the movies have picked at that meal for ideas…..
Look at that. You and I are on the same page and in 100% total agreement.
As for Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns… I would love to see that adaption as sequel to Nolan movies rather than another reboot of the Batman movies.

Participant-
While I hope the enthusiastic review is incorrect in presuming “The Dark Knight” will withstand the test of time (there are just too many other films of merrit that deserve the distinction),
The film is that great but why do you wish that it wasn’t?

I’ll definately give the pic a peek when it hits DVD.
I suggest seeing it on a the big screen. It was made that way. I don’t watching it on DVD will do the movie4 justice.

Many younger people I know already thumb their noses at the last cycle of “Batman” movies
It’s not just the younger people, I’m only 32 and I always found the Burton/Sdhumaker Batman movies to be pure crap.
