Not to me. She looks very sweet and not strange at all, in my opinion, but you’re entitled to yours. Actually Nicoletta has starred in comedies before the horror came along.

And it would’ve been fake if they had offered the role of Regan to a strikingly beautiful blonde girl. Nico never looked like a Hollywood kid. ;))

I’m really honoured that you want me to help you, Sof. I think I get you about the dialoues and narratives… You want to show, not tell, right?

No, I’m the one who’s honoured! Thanks so much, both of you. Yes, I would like to show instead of telling. 🙂

I want to translate this screenplay passage to the novel, in Blatty’s writing style:

INTERIOR SECOND FLOOR HALL OF MACNEIL HOUSE – DAY

THE CAMERA LOOKS DOWN FROM A HIGH ANGLE THAT INCLUDES THE STAIRCASE AT THE EDGE OF THE FRAME AS CHRIS, RUNNING AS SHE KNOTS THE BELT OF HER BATHROBE, EXITS HER BEDROOM, AND HEADS FOR REGAN’S DOORWAY. FROM REGAN’S BEDROOM (OFF SCENE), WE HEAR THE SOUND OF HEAVY FURNITURE BEING MOVED AND OF REGAN’S VOICE, SHOUTING:
    REGAN
    MOM!! MOM!

INTERIOR OF REGAN’S BEDROOM – CHRIS’S POINT OF VIEW.

THE ITEMS OF FURNITURE ARE IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS. KARL, PUSHING A BUREAU BACK TO ITS FORMER POSITION, PAUSES A MOMENT TO GIVE CHRIS A DARK AND INSCRUTABLE LOOK. HE THEN CONTINUES HIS WORK.

FRONT AGLE – CHRIS AND REGAN

REGAN IS STANDING IN HER NIGHTGOWN IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOM, PUZZLEMENT AND SHOCK SPLITTING HER FACE, HER RED HAIR TOUSLED. CHRIS LOOKS FROM KARL TO REGAN. CHRIS What happened??

REGAN LOOKS UP, SQUEEZING HER MOTHER’S HAND, AND IN A FLAT, FRIGHTENED TONE:

    REGAN
Someone moved all my furniture around during the night!

That’s how it ends in his first draft screenplay. 🙂 But I’m not sure if the Third Chapter should start with this passage. What do you think?

And granville (Steve), don’t say that! You’re such an amazing writer! I can’t thank you both enough for wanting to help me. I only hope that Blatty doesn’t mind. He-he.

I don’t agree with you, hammer. 😉 To me, Nicoletta looked like the girl next door, and she’s exactly like Regan is described in the novel, with red hair, face full freckles, slender… That’s why I think of her as Rags. 🙂

Yes, I have that movie. It’s Who Saw her Die. But what do you mean by posting that picture? Are you upset because I think of her as Rags of the novel and not Linda? 😉

And Justy made this sometime ago. ;))

“and I am happy she got the role…”

Oh sure! I adore Linda. I collect her childhood work doing modelling and commercials. I just don’t visualize her as Rags of the novel. I wonder how people can, though.

Well yes, but I think that Friedkin at first wanted a redheaded child for the movie. He always said he was obsessed with the book and didn’t want to make any changes.

How about this picture of Nicoletta? Do you see her more as the girl next door? 🙂

You live in Italy? That’s so great! I live in Portugal, and have been a fan of Nicoletta for years. I respect your opinion, but to me, Nicoletta would’ve been perfect as Regan in the movie.

Ahh, oki 😀 But I think you are the only ones interested.

And I thought of a way to start the chapter. How about this:

Chris awoke by a cold and dim light, digging into her eyes, and by a voice that was shouting, “Mom! Mom!” She sat up…

    :))

Nice 🙂 I’m 21. What’s your real name? If you don’t mind my asking. 😉
