Well according to Martin, the cases presented where sanctioned by the church. Some parts of the book are over dramatized but hey! you have to do that to keep readers engaged.
I think the book really gives an insight in what goes inside the mind of the victims of possesion.

get the F out of here!! For a remake this is as good as it gets! We can only judge this movie as a remake. With that said, I think this was a success.
UZUZAP the only way to remake a movie is to stay as faithful as you can without making a carbon copy. The director was good enough to bring certain aspects of the old one (copy shots like the one at the hospital when Damien is presented to Robert Thorn) and updated situations, like the scooter instead of a tricycle.
And hey! this kid whatever his name is!, he is way better actor than Harvey (the original Damien) he truly looks evil! I would’ve killed the little bastard after he hid behind the tree at the park!
