ParticipantCan't read but half of this unfortunately. Seems the forum is suffering formatting issues again, when displaying images wider than the fixed column width text is running off the edge instead of wrapping.

I'm sure many people here noticed that the United Kingdom Blu ray version out right now of “The Exorcist” is the EDC cover with the green-colored Linda Blair, just like the U.S. version of the EDC dvd.
Are you sure about that? All the UK blu rays I've seen are the usual image of Merrin stood outside the house.

Participant2 things you definitely can't trust in this world; old memories and self publicising movie people. 😉

ParticipantPity, as I rather like what you’ve done with the film.
My memory says you’re a little bit off with the colour balance, I remember it being a tad less greenish more of a golden hue. However that said, memory is far from reliable and this is much more the way I always remember the movie looking. It’s certainly far better looking to my eyes than any of the releases over the last 15 years.
It’s definitely a better viewing experience than the harsh (to my mind) blu ray, which despite being an improvement over the 25th anniversary release has some awful grain/contrast issues and often hurts to look at. Yours hangs together as a whole really nicely rather than feeling like a collection of visual enhancements.
Nice job fella.

ParticipantThe 720p version is available yes, but when will the full 1080 version be available?

ParticipantFor my money both films were serious disappointments. However Dominion was the better by a country mile. It at least had a level of artistic integrity and was attempting to say something about the nature of good and evil.
Beginning was just mindless, generic pap from an awful director and a desperate distributor with no clue how to handle the subject matter.

ParticipantOne of the funniest movies ever made. Well worth tracking down a copy.

ParticipantQuite a few reasons.
Different page sizes vs type size will cause different editions of books to run to different page counts. The same setting is rarely used between different bindings and editions.
Bear in mind early editions would have been set with metal type which is melted down directly after a run. Modern editions (post 1980 ish) would vary between metal type and photosetting.
All these factors along with the large variety of formats the book has been published in over the years will account for it.
Also the latest versions have been amended by Blatty so are actually different in text length.

No, he left that door open for interpretation.
“It was now six weeks since the shock… still there were no answers. Only haunting speculation and frequent awakenings from sleep in tears.”
No answers for the characters certainly, none of whom were party to the complete picture. But for the reader I felt Blatty made things clear.

ParticipantLook at the grey bar near the top on any of the forum's pages, just below the main heading. On the right hand side, opposite where it says “logged in as” you’ll see a button marked “profile”.
Click that and all the necessary stuff should be there for you 🙂

ParticipantI always felt that Blatty's intention was for all doubt to be resolved by the end of the novel, much as it was for Karras.
Whilst he keeps you guessing through the earlier parts I seem to recall everything later in the novel pointing to the conclusion the possession was undoubtedly real.
Maybe time to read it again. I haven't picked it up for over a year 😉
