if I understand correctly, there will be a remake with others person ?
I believe so–I keep hearing really vague information on a remake so no one really knows. From the interview above, it's most likely not going to have the same director. I think that if Friedkin isn't in on a remake, then Blatty won't be in on it without him. So if we do get a remake like people keep telling us we are, then it probably won't be with the original creators (and the actors are all either too old or dead.)

ParticipantWhile I didn't want a remake, I thought that if Friedkin made it–it would turn out nice (most likely not better than the original, but at least be a film that's amusing to some degree.) Although, if someone is truly going forward with an Exorcist remake, I solemnly hope that they don't ruin it.

Out of respect for Bill I thought he would have at least watched Legion once. They're close friends.
I found that strange myself–even if he didn't support anyone making a sequel to The Exorcist, it seems like he would have gone to see III, it was made by Blatty himself, after all.

ParticipantFor some reason, it won't let you post links here. Type the letters that come after the 'bloody-disgusting.com/'

Yeah it would be awesome! The spider walk scene, crucifix scene, the thrashings…. Just to name a few. ๐ SQUEE! Ok heart is racing just thinking about this! ๐
The crucifix scene would be brutal, which would make it all the more fun to see. I honestly wouldn't even care if it was in 3D as long as it was on the big screen. (I've never gotten the chance to see The Exorcist on the big screen or in any theaters.)

ParticipantSince I wear glasses, I find 3D movies sort of annoying. While I do love the 3-dimensional effect, wearing the 3D glasses over my regular glasses is not only uncomfortable, but it also gives you a headache. Although, I would be excited if they re-released The Exorcist in any way. It would be insanely cool to see it in 3D, the vomit-scene in particular would be crazy to see in 3-dimensions.

ParticipantThanks guys, I did add a few of the titles you posted to my watchlist.

ParticipantI have no idea–probably not, though. She's working on that animal rescue-thing she's got going on and it seems like that would be very time consuming. If she does do anymore films, she'll probably be put in as a small role or cameo.
But then again, I have no idea. That's just what I think.

I plan to write something soon.
If you do, you should post it on here (especially since nobody else is posting in this section…)

We had a topic about this on The Exorcist imdb message board so I'm just going to copypaste what I wrote there:
๐
It's novel, novel, novel to me all the way ๐
รยI love that Chris and Regan are based on my idols Shirley MacLaine and daughter Sachi, their relationship in the novel is even more special and has more depth as they can sense each others thoughts sometimes without putting them into words,
I love the mystery of whether or not Regan was possessed and the gradual onset of her possession/illness. In the movie we don't see much of Regan while not possessed, her -pre-possessed- scenes only last about 5 minutes. The Trip to Washington cut scene when Regan asks, “Why do people have to die” and ” Why does God let them” would have added to the horror later on,
I love the subplot on Mary Jo Perrin's witchcraft book that Regan may have read prior to the possession, it adds more creepiness to the story,
All of the discussions about psychiatry, medicine and philosophy are more extensive and fascinating.
I also love that the novel doesn't really answer the question of whether or not Regan was possessed and leaves that door slightly open. Well, obviously she was possessed, we all know that Blatty was writing about demonic possession but his intention was also to leave us in doubt and suspense, I personally love that and find it to be more eerie.
That's actually a really good point you have there. The thing that makes me torn between the book and the film is that the film's soundtrack is actually really good. I think the musical score pulls more emotion into the movie, yet it seems as though the soundtrack gets overlooked a lot of the time (The Exorcist II also has a fantastic soundtrack.)

ParticipantShit, I don't know why the links aren't working (they probably think it's spam) but if you're really interested in it I would Google it (although a majority of pictures of it are NSFW.)

Seen parts of it. Hilarious and disgusting. They've also done porn parodies of Evil Dead and Re-Animator titled Evil Head andรย Re-Penetrator.
What's up with all of these horror movie pornos? I can't decide if it's hilarious or disgusting (or probably a mix of the two.) I looked up The Evil Head on Google and found some..interesting results.

ParticipantI like the crucifix scene. Mostly because that was the scene that always shocked me the most. It was the scene that stuck with me.
