The editing in that scene was done incredible and reminds me how Hitchcock put the shower scene together in Psycho. Linda only played the torso up and Dietz did the “crotch” scene. Like I said, I can’t believe that a 14-year-old would be that naive and never ask a, “What am I doing this for?” So, if she didn’t ask, she knew already (as she eluded to in the interview).

Hey … What Happened to Karras? Same scene that lasts about ten seconds … maybe the scene has more impact of the bed slamming up and down on the floor without Karras. But, it could have been filmed with at last his knees instead of just moving him out range of the camera!

Big Makeup Whoops! This scene features Dietz with the vomiting rig in her mouth that attaches from both sides. It seems like someone would have noticed the blunder when the makeup ripped away. Solution: cover Dietz’s face along with the tube with her hair.

In the U.S., we have only the TVYNS on shelves. I think WB is phasing out the 25th Anniversary since we’re now in the 35th Anniversary era. I can’t believe WB actually passed up an opportunity to re-release the HD/Blu-Ray version on The Exorcist’s 35th Anniversary.

No, dsea, I think there are undeniably significant differences between between the sound of a fart and young girl slamming a crucifix into her crotch while swearing, “Let Jesus fuck you!”
I do however believe that X is probably onto something with the breath as the source of the foul smell.
We just need Sofia to clarify … she’s the expert on the novel. The scene really isn’t clear, but we know it indeed gagged Chris when it came at her.
The scene is the one in which Karras has taken the recording he made at the McNeil household of Regan speaking backward after he “sprankle” holy water on her (the demon). Karras then closely listens and studies the difference voices while he is in the language lab at Georgetown U. This is the scene in which he is asking for a professor’s assistance in determining what language it is. The professor states, “It English alright.” Karras responds, “What do you mean it’s English?” The professor turns the tape recorder back on and plays the tape in reverse order and right after he says, “It’s English in reverse. Listen.”
I think I like the “lawn fertilizer sprinkler.” Perhaps we should all get together and create a child’s version of a water sprayer for kids to play around in the front lawn. 🙂
