LOL! I caught it too Ryan, but let it ride. I think the author, Clarissa Caldwell, had obviously crossed her wires somewhere or she meant, “‘Regan’s’ Father Damien …” I can’t even help her with the way she has it written. 😉

I wonder what effect the movie had on the popularity of the name Regan? I know it didn’t effect the outcome of a certain presidential campaign.

Has anyone heard of Father Damien? I just received my daily email from Britannica and it lists Father Damien as a Belgian, born this day in 1840, who went on a mission to the Hawaiian Islands in 1863 and subsequently devoted his life to ministering to the lepers who had been deported to Molokai island.

Has anyone heard if Blatty used Father Damien’s last name as Karras’ first name in the book? There seems to be some connection between Blatty’s character and the real Father Damien.
