I thought it was garbage. Garbagy title. Garbagy trailer. Never bothered buying the disc despite it being based on a story by Clive Barker. Last night, I watched “The Midnight Meat Train” on Netflix and was blown away! I haven't seen something so unrelentingly gory since the days of “The Texas Chainsaw Massace Part 2” & “Re-Animator” with eyeballs flying as skulls shatter, organs pulsating during cannibalistic feasts, etc. It's the most unappologetically, matter of fact gruesome film imaginable. & it's got an intriguing storyline which riffs on urban legends (in this case; CHUD), loads of suspense, genuine shocks and a twisted ending which sugests there is a mythic, majestic order to the horrific violence. Highly recommended garbage.
