This is riculous. The Exorcist was written to demonstrate the existance of God, and to show Evil and its many works. To claim otherwise is to admit ignorance.
To you my find have you read the bible Jesus said “judge thee that not be judged” Don’t judge us for loving the film I bet you have never even seen it or truly understand it!
Bible bashers to more harm than good, they turn people away from god because they get sick of hearing it rammed down there ears , people find god on there own terms and time!

Wow Glynisbethel. you are a real piece of work aren’t you! There is a channel on cable tv here in the UK and it shows religious gatherings with people such as you preaching to a crowd of people.
I’ve always thought of this as being much more disturbing than fictional books or films because the followers seem to be raised to beleive and absorb everything that the preachers are shouting at them. The way the follwers throw up their arms in rapture etc is a clear display of brainwashing.
We have some people in this world who cannot differentiate between fact and fiction which is also scary.
People are entitled to their own views but it is wrong to enforce your beleifs onto others. If we want to look further into your faith or be preached to, we will come to one of the many websites or gathering run by your fellow beleivers.

Also-rightly there is nothing wrong with me and other born-again believers.And certainly God-the Lord Supreme Almighty-forever and ever.Any who says otherwise is wrong.No-offense,and all forgiveness and apologies rightly always. Curses return to where they come from. And-“As a man soweth,that also shall he reap.” Eternity is too long to be wrong! Noone should be judgemental,arrogant,and critical.Especially of the TRUTH which is Jesus,and all rightly as so which noone can do anything about-and all must heed.As is God’s Will for all.And noone answers God! I don’t think it’s religion doing the warping: their minds were already warped long before they started hijacking God’s word to spread their sick, perverted, fundamentalist parody of Christianity.

The Exorcist regained my faith in god again by the sheer power of the film, Blatty went places now one else dared. How can you belive good and not evil, The Exorcist big’s up religon and demonstrates the cost ( HIS OWN LIFE ) Father Karras did in the name of God to save the family ( LIKE JESUS ).
If anything at all is historical about Jesus, other than his crucifixion, then it is the tradition that he was a wonder-worker and exorcist. The Exorcist so presents him. The demon is challenged to depart because “the power of Christ” compels him. In the novel, the demon is aware of Christ and His power. And the demon is finally vanquished by the Christ-like self-sacrifice of Damien Karras. Like Jesus on the cross, Karras felt abandoned by God. Yet, also like Jesus, at the end, he put his faith in a power greater than himself: “Into your hands I commend my spirit” might well have been Damien Karras’s final thought.
This is what rabid fundamentalists, with their hatred of Catholicism as well as many kinds of mainstream Christianity, cannot and will not admit to: The Exorcist happens to be one of the greatest religious – even Christian – films of all time.
