I agree about Richard Chamberlain! I love the cast choices but it doesn't really make sense Brooke Shields as Chris and an adult actress as Regan. They do look like they can pass for mother and daughter and I'm a fan of Brooke anyway.. but can't see her as Chris at all! 😉

Poor Brooke.  She had a demon for a mother, now she's the mother of a demon.

 

Actually, she might be pretty good as Chris.  She supposedly did a fine job as Morticia in the stage version of The Addams Family.  I think she might have made a good Regan, despite her age.  She had more acting chops than Linda Blair (whom I love nonetheless).  And she certainly looks spooky on the cover of the Audrey Rose paperback.  Speaking of which she tried out for that role too.

 

 

Hard to imagine a better Merrin than Richard Chamberlain.

Brooke was screen tested for the role of Ivy in Audrey Rose but I never heard of her auditioning for the part of Regan. She was only 6 or 7 years old in 1972.

 

Audrey Rose is my other favorite novel, btw. 😉 I have that book cover.
