Probably just a coincidence but I noticed the picture of Shirley and Sachi in the lower left corner of the wallpaper, Sachi kind of has the same tweaked part as the book cover…..

“Exorcist: From Novel To film” must be a hard book to get a hold of. I have the hard cover and the paperback novel that was re-released when TVYNS was in theaters, but I’ve never seen “From Novel to film” anywhere. And I actually have a copy of the Exorcist in french. Found it at a yard sale (I’m bilingual).

From Novel to Film was published in 1974. I bought a copy off Ebay. I think you can still find some there.

I remembered being scared by that book, cause it had pics of the demonic Regan in it. It took me some courage to look at it finally, but I found the book to be interesting. I have the other paperback by Peter Travers, which is a good read too.

Did you like the first draft screenplay? The first 20 pages differed a lot from the novel and Sharon seemed a little creepy, but I liked it.

It’s the pictures of Shirley and Sachi that make it seem like a dramedy. They are always doing funny things..

But why put a picture of a happy family doing funny things on a cover that screams “The Exorcist?” It’s actually funny rather than effective, in my opinion.

I’m a huge fan of Shirley MacLaine and her daughter Sachi. They were the models for Chris & Regan of the book. Chris’s personal life was based on Shirley as well. I made a wallpaper of them:

I buy these images off Ebay from magazines, so they’re not stolen or anything.
