ParticipantThe music fits! Send me the file to add it in the movie. 😀

ParticipantI just talked yesterday in the other thread about this… I find “your” version much better than the “original” one… I always thought that was difficult to give an end to this this scene but actually a fade out is ok… well done…

ParticipantThat’s really impressive, Justy. Nice work. Seamlessly edited back in.* And I like it better than TVYNS’s, as well; it employs more from the novel, TVYN’s unofficial purpose from the get-go.
Now if you could put a whole bunch of blood squirting out of her mouth, it’ll be golden. 😛
*But I would change the music to something by Penderecki, something just a jarring but with no so many “parts” to it; the music you have here does the job and is creepy, but every two seconds it changes and distracts me (speaking for myself) from the action at hand. Penderecki, though, of course, is found on the soundtrack CD, as well as at all fine shameless music bootlegging websites known and hush-hush. 😉

KeymasterVery nice edit, Justin. I just watched TVYNS again last night (for the first time in a while) and I am convinced more than ever that the spider walk scene is so out of place and sticks out like a sore thumb. Ellen’s performance both leading up to the moment and tailing out of it are not the best, and the climax doesn’t add anything at all to the story or the flow of the film.
It was cool to see – but I really think it distracts from a quality film. In my opinion, Friedkin was absolutely right to cut the spiderwalk scene back in ’73.

ParticipantThe problem with the spiderwalk is that in the book it comes after a nice long talking between Sharon and Chris, so there was no double climax… it was coming after the two finally relaxed after the shock… but of course such a scene wouldn’t have worked in the movie…

ParticipantActually the music fits… but maybe I would try with the other piece (the one with the strings without any “melody”) it is worth a try…

ParticipantThis one where she was hissing like a snake is just weird. The version they put in the film and where they put it from where it was in the book was much better I think anyway.
