ParticipantThanks for all the welcomes 🙂 I just got the bluray today, (it looks amazing :)) and my idiot brother laughed at the “Masturbation” scene, and the scene where she is being thrashed on the bed, and basicaly allot during the movie (Thank you to laud audio to drown him out) – It actually kinda sad that anyone would laugh through it, I mean its one thing to not find it scary but to actually laugh at it is pretty sick, even after watching the movie so many times, the movie still makes my heart race, especially that piticualar scene, love the blu ray, going to stay up late watching the special features :))Â

ParticipantCheetah,
I believe a lack of maturity has a lot to do with the laughter. The Exorcist has an intensive character building and theme setup that relies upon viewers having the maturity to comprehend the plot. Some individuals have a hard time following what is happening before they become interested in the movie, unfortunately, that appears to be only when the more vile scenes take place. Perhaps fresh, tender young minds of sexual innocence cannot quite grasp the overall context … only shadow versus substance.Father Bowdern

ParticipantYour Right Bowdern, 🙂

The funniest thing is that he still claims the movie itself is evil, which is not only ridiculous but actually really hippocritical when he is laughing during the scenes, I mean wouldn't  the movie be evil (at least in his mind) only if it looked at the possession positively? It most certainly does not do that, and laughter is a positive emotion usually, he is an idiot anyway, he says the special effects are terrible, and the acting is awful, what an idiot, and it might be hard to believe but he is actually older than me, he is 15 I'm 14, but I guess it is to be expected, I mean, he actually pefers the prequels of star wars to the originals, UGH, whatever, Im not going to let him ruin the bluray for me. 🙂

ParticipantCheetah, this means you are more emotionally intelligent than your 15-year-old brother. Perhaps he has a severe case of ADHD?

ParticipantHaha 🙂 Maybe,

I mean I tell him over and over that it is sick to think it is funny, but he says it is just a movie. And then I bring up the fact that he still seems to think it is evil, and why he still thinks thats so if he just said it is just a movie, then he tells me to go away. lol
