ParticipantThat’s brilliant! I really need to buy TCS on DVD.
There are so many connections between people who were affiliated with The Exorcist. Both Miller and Stacy Keach are in The Ninth Configuration, and then Keach appears in Miller’s own bloody film! I need to archive all these facts somewhere at TNC.com in future.

ParticipantThanks for the wonderful interview. Miller was one fascinating, articulate person.

ParticipantWell, he (Jason) was 34 when he was in the movie… I can’t remember peoples ages in the book.

ParticipantYeah, without knowing him personally, still he makes a big impact. Also, since the interview was in the early 80s, doesn’t that make him approximately the age of Karras as in the book? He was in his 30s in the film in 73 so in 82, nine years later, he’d be in his 40s – the same age as Karras in the novel…

ParticipantYeah… He wasn’t like all the “movie stars”… He was so human. It fills me with awe how he was just himself. That’s a rare quality 😉 He wore his heart on his sleeve (in this interview at least); so much feeling behind his words. It was a good point about men crying in movies. Karras cried. Those are the parts that usually choke me up. It’s weird… I never knew him, but I miss him anyway.

ParticipantJustin, are you able to save this video somehow for me please? So I can make screencaps (for me and the yahoo group 😉 ) and in case it’s removed from youtube. I couldn’t find anywhere where I could save it to my pc (to play in realplayer, make screencaps ect.).

ParticipantBlizzi, thanks for the data on Jason’s exact age.. yeah, that would put him in the correct age in the interview as he was in the novel.

ParticipantYou’re welcome. I was curious and did the math a long time ago 😉 Gee, I remember the first time I watched the Exorcist; seeing him and thinking “THAT’S the Exorcist? This’ll be interesting!”. He was so natural and had the amazing ability to pack a ton of emotion into one subtle expression. Incidentally, the first time I saw Lee J. Cobb in this movie, I laughed. The only movie I had seen him in before was 12 Angry men (he was the angry hold out) when he was much younger and sans moustashe 😛 So how old was Karras in the book?

ParticipantI don’t recall that the exact age was mentioned, just that he was in his 40s, and Miller remarked that Karras was in his 40s, whereas Miller was still only in his 30s when he made the film.

ParticipantThe only way I know how to save youtube videos (just by getting them from temp internet files) are as FLV files which only play in FLV players.

ParticipantI think I have a FLV player. If it isn’t too much trouble, I would really appreciate it 😀

ParticipantHere’s a direct link to the file:

Just rename it to whatever.flv 😀

ParticipantI can’t make it work 🙁 . I don’t know much about computer stuff 😛 Thanks anyway 🙂

Participantupdate: I downloaded it from google. Now I can do screencaps. Thanks again, Justin. I guess I don’t have a flv player after all 😉
