ParticipantIf there ever was a remake, I think I would go and personally kill all the studio heads that went along with the idea. 🙁 🙁 🙁 :mad
It’s strange that you’re picking people who already sound or look dead for the part. Maybe the remake will be made in the Netherworld.

ParticipantThe peeps I threw out as possibilities to me seemed the most worthy of portraying the Karras character.
Karras, the actor portraying him, must have taken a beating in life, but withstood it to press on. Karras might be a kindly priest, but he’s been to Hell and back (not literally, but you get the idea, right?). His worldly and spiritual problems, must’ve taken years off his life, and then he’s asked to intervene in a case of possession, and does so, because he genuinely wants to help, despite his weariness. That, to me, is what Karras is all about.
Anyway, an actor ought to be somebody with a beaten-looking face and demeanor, but have a real heart. A tough guy with a heart that’s tougher.

ParticipantI always thought the perfect actor to play Karris for a remake would be Edward Norton. I really couldn’t see any other actors that are of the appropriate age group to be playing that part.

ParticipantI say Adrien Brody for Karras. However, I do not EVER EVER support a remake of The Exorcist.

KeymasterNo ideas for the character, but -as BadLocust77 said- I DON’T EVER SUPPORT A REMAKE of The Exorcist! It would be the worst!

ParticipantThe only thing I’d support is a TV series “remake” like what was supposed to happen ages ago.

ParticipantReally? hmm…I wonder what they would put on that kind of series.
June 30, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15209Justin
ParticipantAnd I should add, only if it was done by Blatty or Friedkin. I see the series as a direct version of the novel.
June 30, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15210cappy
ParticipantThat’s sounds quite nice(: And with the same actors?
June 30, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15211Justin
ParticipantDon’t know about the cast, but it would be cool to have some cameos by some of the original cast (or just Linda).
June 30, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15213GhettoExorcist
ParticipantHow about Linda does the new Captain Howdy/Pazuzu/Mask of Death. Could be interesting.

ParticipantErrr… a mini-series. 2 parts or something..

ParticipantConstantine? God, I hated this movie..
And when he showed up with that tomi-gun in the shape of a cross, that’s really where this thing lost any shred of intelligence.July 1, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15229Jason Stringer
KeymasterMovies about exorcisms are rubbish (lately). Case in point: Constantine.
July 1, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15225Greg
ParticipantHmmm… that’s something to think about. I would actually rather see a hardcore, no pulling punches, cinematic expose on the Annalise Michel exorcism (and not obviously the Emily Rose film) if that were possible. Perhaps in several more years when the personal sensitivity of the material was not as much of a problem for the families.
