ParticipantHello everyone! I am in the process of preparing to move from Canada to the States (our whole family, with two children and a dog), and, frankly, it is getting scarier every day – so many nuances, paperwork, logistics. I started googling international moving companies, and International Van Lines often pops up. They write that they have a full range of services – from packing to storage and even car transportation. But when I started reading reviews about International Van Lines, there were both good and not so good. Has anyone actually used them on an international route? I want to understand how reliable they are, whether it is worth ordering a full package of services, and whether there are any pitfalls. I don’t want to get into a situation where some of your things don’t arrive or are delayed at the border for two weeks.

ParticipantI moved from Miami to Barcelona a year ago (my husband for work, I with two suitcases, a bicycle and three huge boxes of books), and we chose International Van Lines. I also spent a lot of time reading reviews – and to be honest, international van lines reviews on the Internet are really contradictory. But fortunately, my experience was generally positive, although there were some nuances. First, the pros. The guys from the company themselves helped a lot with collecting documents, including a list of inventory, customs forms, and even gave a template for listing the contents. We ordered their “door-to-door” service – this is when they pack, load and then deliver everything to the new apartment. I liked that the packaging was very neat: the books were wrapped in paper, stickers with my notes were glued to the boxes. The move was via a container by sea, so everything took almost a month to arrive – and this should be taken into account, especially if speed is important. As for the car, we didn’t have a car, but I spoke to a couple who sent a Tesla from New York to Berlin through them the same day. According to them, everything arrived safely, but there was a week’s delay due to the weather at the port.

ParticipantInteresting topic. I am still choosing a company for moving from Boston to Munich, and I also often come across International Van Lines reviews. I noticed that many are satisfied, but as always, everything depends on the specific manager and route. So far, I am more inclined to take only packaging and transportation without storage – I am afraid that things, especially equipment, can be damaged in warehouses.

ParticipantLabel ALL your boxes specifically, not just general like “Kitchen.” Otherwise you will have boxes in your new house that you have NO IDEA what’s in them.
Plan where big items (beds, couches, dr tables, etc) are going to go BEFORE you get there. Measure rooms and measure items – see if they fit.
Know that moving can be very stressful on you and your sweetie. Do not yell at each other or at the movers; it accomplishes nothing and can create really unnecessary problems you could have avoided by keeping calm.

ParticipantThe success and comfort of your move depends on the company you trust with for this process. My experience moving with A-Z Moving moving company toronto was very wonderful! They treated my items like our own. From wrapping and packing to careful transportation and unloading, they went above and beyond to ensure my possessions arrive safely and on time. They used only high-quality packing materials and modern equipment to get the job done right.
No hidden fees. No surprises. They pricing is upfront and honest, so I knew exactly what to expect from the beginning.November 1, 2025 at 7:36 PM #53109miekeee2
ParticipantI can relate to that experience so much, Evan. When I had to relocate from one state to another, I also spent days comparing companies and reading every review I could find. I finally came across https://servicepromovers.com/ Service Pro Movers, Sacramento, and what really helped me decide was how transparent and communicative they were from the start. They handled packing, labeling, and transport with total professionalism, and even checked in after delivery to make sure everything arrived safely. It made a stressful process feel surprisingly easy and organized.
