Good catch, and absolutely spooky. In the black, gaping doorway, a light figure does appear, and it does look like a nun – or the Virgin. Maybe a nun had been in the church, didn’t realize they were filming, and walked into the opening. She’s there only a fraction of a second. She appears as they are rounding the church (I think it’s a church – Dahlgren Chapel?) and the “nun” appears on the extreme left, just as Karras and Kinderman walk by the entrance. She appears just when Kinderman says, “It’s Othello.”

I would never have caught it, either, except for magus’ sharp-eyed commentary. It’s downright spooky, like those films in which “ghosts” are said to put in momentary appearances.

IT’S THE LITTLE BOY FROM 3 MEN AND A BABY. REMEMBER? JUST KIDDING. I ALSO FOUND A NEW IMAGE ON THE NEW VERSION OF THE EXORCIST MOVIE THAT I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE, MAYBE CAUSE I WAS WATCHING IT ON A BIG SCREEN AND NOTICED IT THIS TIME. IT’S THE SCENE WHEN CHRIS ENTERS REGAN’S ROOM AND THE WINDOWS ARE OPENED, AS SHE LEAVES THE ROOM, A FULL IMAGE OF THE STATUE PAZUZU IS RIGHT BY THE DOOR. THE IMAGE IS THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND IT FADES AWAY SLOWLY. ANYBODY SPOT THAT TOO OR DID EVERYBODY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT IT. LITTLE TREASURES ARE FOUND DURING EACH VIEWING OF THIS FILM.

Kinderman last comment to Karras was “I lied , you look like Sal Mineo.” Sal Mineo was as actor who got stabbed in an alley way. And layed bleeding on the floor, just the same way Karras layed bleeding to death. Coincidence?

That may be a grisly synchronicity between fiction and real life, but it doesn’t work thematically for the film, since Sal Mineo had not yet been murdered.

Whatever happened to Karl, my favorite bowling partner to Goebells? I know he was in another horror movie, SUSPERIA, but that was in the 80’s.

have anybody notice, the scene where Kinderman and father Karras meet, and they take a walk, They pass in front of the Church entrance, but as soon as they past the entrance, then you notice a Nun or the virgin mary standing in the doorway. kind of weird to see, any comment???
