    Hatty,

    -Exorcist: Dominion

-Just re-do the title shot. The 1973 film this film prequels, you see, has no opening credits; they’re saved for the end. 🙂

-Final scene: the footage of Merrin walking in the street and toward the Vatican. Please have the final “Dominion” scene gradually fade into this; then of course have that fade into the SATAN’S MARCH end credits. It’d be a good epilogue, as it’s what’s found in the unpublished novelization and script. It helps remind us “Merrin is back”.

-Deleted scenes edited back into the film. Please. 🙂

-Lastly, no new effects or music, or other modifacationsor adjustments. It’s all fine as is.

Whatever you can find it in your heart to do, I thank you.

    M.I.K.E.

I don’t like the colours during the exorcism (I don’t think they need to be changed), and the beginning nazi scene looks to be too blue, but the other ones look good.

thanks for your input, im always in need of an opinion other than my own, and of course these were just examples of the directions I was thinking of,
how do you feel about the giant Light, part of my inspiration for it was the real life exorcism that took place in 1949, there was A church some miles from the event, it’s said that at the moment the demon was cast out, that the top of this church Lit up like the sun.

Oh, I never saw that. I think it could turn out good if done right, but isn’t the light coming from cheche and not outside?

it shows some light come in from one of the windows, then they show the cavean light starts coming from the passege to the church, and fills the cave, then as cheche is disapearing, the spot he’s laying in is consumed by white light

    Hatty,

In light of your new images… here’s what says I — no pressure, but I think…:

The poster with the faces looks good, but not for a DVD cover; maybe a teaser movie poster. I like Justy’s cover ideas (aside from the “A prequel to the Exorcist” — “A” implies it’s one of many (no pun intended), which would seem to validate and rudely remind of that E:TB trash) — or quite honestly, the official one is perfecto, aside from perhaps the “Prequel to the Exorcist” subtitle (which may stay or go).

And all the light changes seem unnecessary. In my mind, this film’s lighting should go unchanged; the story represented in the film takes us to a time before the gritty, darker, modern 1970s, before the Demon Pazuzu goes after the elderly Merrin and his associates in Georgetown. It’s a less dark time back in the 1940s, so I think it would appear too forced if you changed the lighting at all.

…including for the exorcism scene and illuminated ending sequence where the church lights up — my thinking is: the way it is is the way it should stay — the church iconography becoming illuminated once the devil’s been driven out is poetic and complimentary of the themes and tone of the story. Changing it would be too… Um, Renny Harlin…? That is, it would be too “flash show”, not the sobering supernatural fallout of the Roman Rite of Exorcism.

    Respectfully,

    M.I.K.E.

    One more thing:

If any additional Captain Howdy appearances you wish to include in this “fan edit”, may I suggest…

Use only Billy Crawford-Captain Howdy footage (or stills). Anything else will make viewers think there are two different and distinct. Captain Howdy characers. They look similar, but juxtoposing them together in the same movie would be quite distracting, methinks.

M.I.K.E I respect your opinions, the dvd artwork that I did is about a year old, so I really had know intention of using it, And I love Justins work, and I would be honord if he does the artwork.

in the opening titles the “PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST” goes, on artwork it’s ok, but on the actual movie its stupid,as far as the lighting goes There will be many scenes that go untouched, I just ask that you have faith in me, The illumination is something I inted to do if If I can get it rite, I do agree that major fx is harlin, this is the biggis effect im doing, My reason for it is this, Dominion is a differnt Movie
and in the other movies we don’t really see the power of light, except at the end of part 3, I want there to be a shot of epic of epic proportions, and this is the only shot that I feel is truely good for it, yes people still get the point without it, but this is a fan cut, as far as captain howdy goes you have no need to worry, Im only using crawford.
I will be lgoing to St. Louis tommorow(Ironicly it’s where the real Exorcism took place) a friend of mine is graduating from collage on saturday, and I’ll be back on sunday, that evening I should have a few test(video)shots to post, it will be a test for the light, and the shot of Merrin walking out of the doorway at the end of dominion, and transitioning into the beginning with him walking torward the vatican.

    Use http://imageshack.us/ to upload images.

I can take a crack at the cover art, and also special features for the second disc.. but I’m just wondering if we could get in any trouble for this? 😮

As for the name, I’d not have Exorcist first in the name as Merrin is not yet an exorcist, maybe just have ‘Dominion’. Not really too bothered.
