Perhaps Chris hears a noise in the attic… (An interesting bit thrown in about the first stages of possession/mental illness? Psychokinesis and Regan wanting Chris to spend more time with her?) Do you think Regan would be afraid of rats? Maybe Chris could say that they’re mice instead. And tell her to imagine Mickey Mouse is in the attic… I don’t know… I gave it a shot 🙂
