The last time I checked, which was about two years ago, the version being streamed on Netflix was TVYNS. Now it's the original. Wise choice, IMO, but I wonder why they changed it.
Because TVYNS is garbage, IMO. Never tinker with perfection and add additional footage of senseless filler that was originally on the cutting room (where it should have remained).

Wow that's very interesting. I am also curious as to why they changed back to the original (and am glad they did). They'll probably get calls from disgruntled youngsters tuning in to see the version 'with that creepy spiderwalk down the stairs'… ugh. I don't like that scene. Friedkin was right to leave it out in 1973.
