Who would you predict to be a more offensive Helmer for an Exorcist remake ?

    “What is Helmer?”

Usually the director, or producer or who’s ever in charge.

I think McG did an allright job taking over the Terminator franhise.

However, I don’t think I want him touching The Exorcist.

Tim Burton (even though I’m a fan of his work!)

A good director would be someone like Christopher Nolan!

Am I like the only one on this planet that despises Tim Burton ?

Of the two miscreants, definitely Zombie. Unless you’d enjoy seeing Merrin as a drunken hick who tries to grope Reagan while cursing loudly over the emptiness of his bottle.

Other names should certainly include Marcus Whatever, the wretch responsible for “Texas Chainsaw Remakessacre”.

And Nolan… let me sum up how his “vision” would go:
“Firstly, we strive for realism. No demons, no possession. It is simply a case of mental illness, and we need to make it clear. The exorcism is, in our view, metaphor for psychotherapy.
Secondly, we need to know more. How did Karras become a priest? We’ll start with showing his days in the seminary. And Merrin, what is his history? Let’s go back to the first mass he conducted. I want to see him try on his habit for the first time. Study the Bible as a young boy. We must see it all. No detail must be left unexplained. The stairs, who built them? What make of cement did they use? We want to see it all. And in closeup. Don’t forget to shake the camera when the stairs are built. And when the priest tumbles down them. I want realism, I want the audience to feel it!
And no cheery music, no tubular bells or whatever those things are. This is a serious piece. We need to restore the gritty nature of this franchise…”

    Etc.
