Thanks to Captain Howdy for posting the trailer. If this hasn’t been beaten to death already – does anyone know if the “extra” scenes in the trailer are actually part of the screenplay and specifically filmed for the movie, i.e.,
the night scene of the foggy graveyard – is this the Jesuit cemetary where Karras’s grave is? I wonder what that scene meant in the screenplay and why it was deleted;
the long walk down the psych ward corridor to The Gemini’s cell – a nice touch and very reminiscent of Friedkin’s approach to Regan’s door – I wish it had been kept in Legion (unless it was just filmed for the trailer);
Douriff saying to the priest in the confessional, “I have a shot for you, Father” (or words to that effect) – seems to give away too much too early – I wonder if it was in the original film or if it was added to the trailer for “suspense”.
If anybody has any ideas, I’d enjoy hearing them.
