I guess I've brainwashed you, Molly, into visualizing Shirley & Sachi as Chris & Regan and Sharon Tate as Sharon. 😉

Blatty believed in a real supernatural intervention

Of course. But, Blatty's intention was also to leave readers in doubt and suspense as to whether or not Regan was possessed or mentally ill/having a disease with no name, so people can believe what they want to believe. Unlike Audrey Rose novel, in which the author really states that Ivy is the reincarnation of Audrey Rose and doesn't leave any room for doubt. I like Blatty's writing method better than Frank de Felitta because, Blatty, leaves you in suspense right up until the end. It's much more thrilling than stating that Regan is possessed.

You're right, I'm just being brainwashed by all those “Regan was molested” theorists. 😉

I just created a “levitation” custom animation!   This is my third custom animation for The Sims 3. :D

And my Sims 3 version of Sachi. 🙂

In the novel, and implicitly in the film, Regan’s many medical tests never uncovered sexual abuse.

Yes, that’s true, but did they ever examine her… umm… vagina? In the first medical scene, Regan tells Dr. Klein to keep his fingers away from her c*nt and doesn’t let him examine it. Had she ever been through a gynecological exam? That was never mentioned.

Yes, the doctors do ask her this. In fact, they suggest that perhaps Reagan's father (referred to as “Howard”, hence Captain Howdy) may have been the abuser. Chris absolutely denies any of this.

I never thought of that before! It's actually kind of interesting and makes more sense to me than the theory of Burke molesting Regan.

    Hi Oachi!

Here's my Regan's head turning around in Sims 3. It's only a test/rehearsal. The only problem with the animation is that the hair goes inside her nightgown when the head is on the back and I don't know how to fix that. 😉

“(Having not read the novel in many years, I can't remember if Dennings was more detailed in that)”

    Yes, he is.

    Thanks for your review.

In the script that I read, one of the doctors asked Chris if Regan had been sexually abused which was never hinted in the novel. Do they ask her this on the stage play? If Granville knew about this he wouldn't give the stage play a chance lol.

Ok, I read the entire script!

How could they have stuck to the book when there is no Kinderman investigating a murder, Karl & Willie and Sharon are gone too! So much has been dropped! How can Blatty be pleased with this play??

And what's with Regan calling Mr. Dennings, “uncle Burke”!

    Thank you!

“SOme of the added scenes are Burke talking to Karras  about faith and how Burke had at one time was seriously considering becoming a priest but how he sold out as a director. “

Wow! Chris mentioned this in passing while she was with Burke in the study room.

What's the play length of time, btw? How much of Chapter 1 was adapted to the stage?

    🙂

    Please keep going!

What are the new scenes? Did you record anything, by chance?

I have tricks to make them feel “fresh” 😉 like adding new excerpts, having my own vision of the novel and imagining the scenes in whatever way I want to, etc.

Will every scene be set in the church?

What about the script? Will the entire script be online ever?
