Exactly why I used it, I baught a DVD about WW2, so that I could find Certain types of images to use, I Played the shot of this woman over and over, and thought there was so much of a Likness, I just had to use it somewhere, and the was the scene where I had intended to use real footage, But the way it disolves from this woman to Clara was not intentional at first, I had the footage lined up with the scene a certain way, and it was playing and I noticed it the images blended together, I thought maybe I should use it that way, So I did.
Splended Work, absolutely Splended.
I liked the Howdy shot, I have a really quick shot of Pazuzu in my version rite
before merrin turns to find Cheche.The Scene with with the solidiers marching is about like mine.
I admit I Should have been useing the deleted scenes, but A few of them Seemd so damn difficult to put in and have it fit correctly.
Ironicly The Shot of Merrin Kissing the Crucifix is the way I was trying to get it, But I got so impatiant I sat that aside.
I gotta admit Im a bit Jealous 🙂
I remember seeing this online a couple years ago, it’s a Damn Shame this stuff wasn’t in the Final Cut.
I must admit My new version of this scene is Somewhat differn’t, and I’ll probably get bashed for what I did.

ETB Most Definetly, DOMINION on the Other Hand, Well I really Don’t think they would have had Him Hovering around with Something swinging between his Legs, I The Demons Voice in ETB was better and Should have Been in DOMINION, Dominion Should Have had More Dialouge Between Merrin and The Demon, and it also should Have Been more Like the Earlier Script.
I Think Merrin Should have Had A Heart Attack in During The Exorcism, If I had made the Film Thats Something I would Have Done, In The Exorcist it’s heavily Implied that Something like that Had Happend.
In My Cut I Do Emphazize the Weakening Of His Heart, but not an Actual Heart Attack.I really wanted to see this on the big screen, the closest it was playing was in Fort Worth Texas, thats a state away from me, so it wasn’t in the cards.
I finally saw it in august on a really bad bootleg, But I Loved it despite the fact the I couldn’t see much because of the bad Quality.Ultimately Im glad that this Film Exists

I Never wanted to see it be a Horror Film, at least no more than Exorcist 3, Yes I wanted a creepy Movie, But I really Wanted to see Something differn’t from all the Horror Movies being Done, And as Prequels to Movies were coming out, I was always dissapointed wit the fact that none of them really took the idea of being a prequel seriously, they all had refrences to the Film they were a Prequel to, I won’t even go into ETB.But Dominion was differn’t, It’s an unconventional Prequel, it Dosent handcuff itself to the Exorcist, It took the Idea seriously that story wise the Exorcist hasn’t happend yet, So theres not a shit load of refrences to the Original, It’t really does just play straight, Dosent say Hey do you see a Connection to the Original.
My Version However does have refrences, But the most obvious is of Course the Howdy Flashes, Ive added afew more, but tried to work them in a way that feels Natural with whats going on.
I have to Admit there are no Tubular bells in my version, I felt that should stay with the Original Film, However I did want Some sort of sound that was Exorcist-Like, So the sound ive used is based off of the very first sound were here during the opening logos, we then here it when Merrin is in Iraq, then arriveing at the House, this sound I always associated with Merrin and the Demon, So that became my bases for Merrins theme in Dominion, atleast during the scenes when He senses or feels something Evil so to speak.
Im still working on it but the pace has been slowing down, I feel bad about that, but at the same Time im trying Finish it right.
it suprises me how fast some Fan Cuts are made, yet Im taking forever,But As Ive always said Im not a Pro, it won’t be perfect, but it will be the best that I can do with what I have to work with.Tis is A little bit of Footage from My Fan Cut, The Major differnce is the music, the Pice of Music that I use is differnt from the rest of the movie, but I felt it fit the Scene as well as the Theme of the Scene.
The music is actually the main theme from Psycho 2, it was by the late Composer Jerry Goldsmith, He also usede it for a scene in the movie “Legend”, However it wasn’t part of the U.S release, but all og Goldsmith’s Score had been put back in for the Director’s Cut.
http://s112.photobucket.com/albums/n170/hatter76/?action=view¤t=d-clip.flvOriginaly I wanted to use the same Music that was Used in this part of the story in ETB, But Couldn’t get that part of the Score itself, So I Look around for what I felt would work , I felt it needed a score in the Scene where he’s on his knees, Of course there are scenes that don’t need Music, But this is the major turning ponit, the Movie has been building up to this Moment, So I felt it needed something Special, There really was no other Music that I felt worked within the context of this Cut.
It’s so very Differn’t from what was used in ETB, It also reminded me Of Something Out of a Western, and Schrader Talked about This Sort of like being a Western.
Personaly I think the Score for My Cut is an even bigger Patchwork then what Schrader claimed DOMINION has.I didn’t really subtract any Music(very Little) It’s mostly adding and trying to blend.
At first I thought this Look might be to over the top, and maybe it is, but when I saw this book cover I realized that it was exactly what I was going for.
