I am pleased to say that the fan cut is almost finishd, about 20 minutes left,then I look at it all, then go back and do little touchups and some tweaking.
I am little disapointed, The Nightmare scene for Merrin, is not going to be included, it feels to out of place, and looks to out of place, and it comes of somewhat laughable, so it’s gone.
I Know that The disapearing Chomo has been an issue for some people, My final solution is is a no-brainer, I tried to Composit Chomo into the shot with the Limited stuff I have to work with, And it Looked stupid, even worse than any of the Infamous CGI.
ultimately what Ive done for that shot is zoom in on the dead children, so the spot where chomo would be is off the screen now.I wanted to ask though, does anyone want to see the opening credits in the style of the original Exorcist, or should I just keep it as is, without “PREQUEL TO THE EXORCIST”.?
Another Idea I had was to Make the Movie a Little grainy, Like an early 70s Movie, to try and fit better as a prequel, Should I do that or just drop that idea?
Well Ive answerd this question before, but I will answer it again, as far as Legal permision goes, No I don’t, then again Fan Cuts usually don’t.
But as Ive said in the past this is nonprofit, someone had suggested that I upload the Movie on the internet, so that fans can download it. I really cant do that with my computer, So Im hopeing that there is Someone who can.Ive been working on this for more than half a year, with very limited software, and of course my computer crashed a few months ago, So I had to redo most of what I had already done.
makes me wonder what the movie could have been, if Stan Winston was involved, the Make-up would have been much better, if Industrial Light and Magic did the Movie, the Hyenas would have looked much better, unless they went for the star wars prequel approach.
Has Stellan Skarsgard and Liam Nesson in the credits, even Linda Blair and Ellen Burstyn.
Ed Flanders who playd Dyer in Exorcist 3, he shot himself in 1995, so he’s been dead for quite sometime, I guess they were hireing ghosts for the Movie.whats strange is the first one I remember seeing in a Magazine, I always look in the same magazines at the bookstoore, but I don’t remember which magazine it was, but it was the first thing I had ssen that seemed to be an official piece of artwork, But I remember not liking that it had EXORCIST IV on it, but I remember expecting to see the statue face from it in the Movie, of cores then the “RESHOOT ” happend and I forgot all about thet artwork, but then about a 2 weeks after ETB came out at the theater, I had baught a bootleg offline(naughty me) when I got it in the mail, the artwork was this poster, and I said this is for the first version, then I was curious to see which version it would be, and of course it turned out being the second version(Worst Quality), and I thought shit, after a while I turned out throwing it in the garbage with a bunch of papers in my desk, it wasn’t until I herd of DOMINION finaly getting a release, that I went through my desk and couldn’t find that artwork, I really regreted it, I regret it even more now.
Of course on the bottom the credits had names from differnt exorcist films, and I thought somebody sure was dumb, but the Picture itself I remember seeing it like it was yesterday.I can’t beleave it but I just found that piece of artwork online(again) much better quality, can’t believe I found it so fast, it’s interesting because I did see this in a magazine, but maybe they found thought it was the real thing, it is on a sight with some fan made artwork, actualy some good artwork on that site, but the bottom credits on all the posters are messed up pretty bad.

I havn’t really had the time to take a better look at it.
rite now Im just concerned with working on it and finishing it, If I don’t finish there wont be anything to send.this is a quick test to demonstraight the concept of the Final shot using Dominion and ETB, One of the problems with doing a shot like this is getting images to line up correctly, But this is just a quick test, Im actually dissapointed with it.
Well Justin as I said I was pretty disapointed with it myself, and it’s, Im fine with Dominion’s ending, though I thought it would be neat to explore this Idea, But trying to make it work is a real bitch, Having to re-crop both pieces of footage to try and line them up.
I don’t intend to do the final shot until I get to that part of the movie.
If I come up with a version of it that I like, I could Have 2 Differn’t Versions of The fan cut, one with the Normal ending, and one with this, but thats quite a ways down the road, And I really have mixed feelings on what I would prefer to be the Final Shot.
as Ive said before I cant please everybody, but I can try to Compromise.When I get the time I’ll try it your way, we’ll se how that works, but it will brobably be a few days before I get back to doing any maijor work, Have a few Halloween responsibilities to take care of.
