^Right … Father, I really don't get your point. I agree that sometimes Blair wasn't that perfect  (in the previous cut doctor’s scene), but for the rest she was great. The film wouldn't have been such a success if she didn't act that well. Just look at Dietz when she tested the vomit apparatus: she is totally ridiculous. Then Look Linda in the chosen cut: she is perfect with just opening the mouth!

^ I totally agree … How can we only pretend she could make a demon out of her little young voice? I think Linda was just perfect in both roles. The part of the crucify says it all … she managed to get that scary look in her eyes and that was not only the make-up. Besides, I don’ t think like Sophia that the Regan of the movie should have been more similar to the one of the novel. If Friedkin had chosen Nicoletti Elmi, for example, the film would have been not so realistic … Nicoletta had maybe more similarity with the character of the book, but she had also that typical little girl face we see always in horror movies. Linda was looking totally normal, cute but normal … and this is what made the film so realistic.

Well he's right, it is mostly Linda, but she didn't use the rig.

I honestly think he's just trying to give as little credit to Dietz as possible. If they had done any shots of Linda using the rig then they probably wouldn't have shown any footage of Dietz at all, but because she was the only one who filmed that scene properly and it is one of the most famous shots in the film, they had no choice.

They could have at least shown a little footage of Linda's outtakes. Roizman may not have filmed it, but there is footage out there because a couple of seconds was shown in Linda's A&E bio (I made this animated gif of it a while back).

^^ Justin, how do I make the grey boxes like you did when quoting

    someone?

Well, in my opinion, as I already said, that little shot with Dietz is horrible … they shoud have leaved ony the part with Linda (that looks perfect) … and save all those discussions.

PS: Yes, I know, I am not a fan of Dietz … I really don't like when a double is so obviously different.

^Right. This is the definitiv conclusion.

In the pictures posted by Justin you can clearly see it was always Dietz in the scene (the wig is without any doubt the same)
Father, I think it was Dietz trying the target. LoL

I think Friedkin made a huge mistake using that little splah scene with Dietz … the vomit would have worked much better without it … One shoot was enough …

It was about Blair wearing the vomit apparatus in the Disc 1 … We had a discussion about being really Linda or not … I believe we see only Dietz…

Father Bowdern, I  finally got the blu-ray two days ago. Do you get upset if I tell you that … I think it was Dietz? They put it cleverly in between two little sequences of Blair in the bed, but in that part, I think it was Dietz …

The Italian one is pretty ok … they used an old Italian actress with deep voice.

To me she looks more like Dietz … she is not as puffy as Linda … but maybe I am wrong

I am not sure I understood… do you mean you did not see the “original” spiderwalk before?
