Yeah, not only awesome priestly characters, but unlike all too many horror novels and films, Blatty provided believable, _authentic_ priests. Their willingness to help, even to sacrifice themselves, stands out against the schlock horror cliche’ of the “crazy, creepy, sinister, ineffectual” clergyman who haunts so many films and books.

I’m on a roll and cant sleep. I like how this movie shows how priests are willing to help anybody. Chris and Regan were not Catholics, and they still helped them. They would do that in real life, too. Blatty did awesome work.

I belive that is the beauty of the movie and also the novel in that is so well researched and put together.Blatty made sure of that.
