William Peter Blatty shows notes he took before writing The Exorcist

A Glimpse of the New Features on The Exorcist 40th Anniversary Blu-ray

How time flies. Suddenly, it’s October, Halloween looms and The Exorcist 40th Anniversary Blu-ray has finally arrived from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. I’ll have a review of it posted soon enough.

Snippets of the new special featurettess included on this anniversary release have been uploaded to WB’s official YouTube channel.

Snippets from Beyond Comprehension: William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist show Blatty stepping back into the cabin in which he wrote The Exorcist novel 42 years ago. It’s his first time back in the cabin and he shares fond memories as he paces through the rooms. He also shows extensive notes he took before starting the novel and reads an excerpt.

Perhaps less exciting are snippets from Talk of the Devil show Father Eugene Gallagher talking in-depth about exorcism. Blatty first heard about the real case of possession from this man while studying at Georgetown University.

You can watch all of the clips below.
