Turkey did it all backwards. First, instead of dubbing The Exorcist in their native tongue and releasing it locally, they ingeniously came up with their own demonic possession flick – called ‘Seytan‘. This film was just about a scene-for-scene remake of The Exorcist for the Turkish audience and became a cult classic over the years with VHS duplicates finding big traction on eBay during the re-release run of The Version You’ve Never Seen. Now you can own Seytan on DVD which includes and they have dubbed it in English for you to enjoy! How’s that for completing a backwards circle, huh?
I’m serious! It’s available now at Amazon.com. In fact, I’m so serious I am going to make it the first item available in the Howdy Store, opening very soon here at CaptainHowdy.com (see below).
And as an extra-special prelude to the upcoming return of the Exorcist Fansite Video section, I have also posted a couple of Seytan clips to enjoy (also below), so you can re-live that Turkish Exorcist magic!
