Mark Kermode talks about re-implementing the lost Legion footage as “ongoing,” and also talks about the original spiderwalk vs. the one in TVYNS. This was put online just the other week!

This is something that has gotten to me for a while. If Morgan Creek really did look and came up with none of the missing footage, then what of these scenes that appeared in the E! “Curse of The Exorcist” documentary?

I mean, just look! Behind the scenes video footage exists of Father Morning being directed; Nurse X being directed, and so on. They were only very, very brief clips. Surely there must exist an entire archive full of stuff like that just begging to be released on a deluxe version of the DVD? At the very LEAST!

I wouldn’t mind this so much if those cheesy flashes of the demon weren’t added, along with the horrible alternate spiderwalk. If the CGI demon faces were removed, and the original, intended spiderwalk was implemented instead, it would be fantastic. Then we’d have good additional scenes and improved video/audio. Everyone’s happy.

Just a note to all Ninth Configuration/Elsewhere/Exorcist III fans: with “Elsewhere” coming out in March, along with quite a bit of Blatty-solo related stuff happening in 2009 (unrelated to The Exorcist), be sure to register at the forum to get some discussion going. Between CaptainHowdy.com and the TNC site, we pretty much now have all of Blatty’s stuff covered, discussion wise. 🙂

Cheers, father! There will be much more to come, but I’ve archived pretty much all the rare stuff that is currently out there regarding Legion: novel cover variations, all the trailers, rare images, and exclusive information/images from Blatty himself. There will be a lot more to come as Erik’s Legion book progresses.

Yeah, so would I. I’m just a sucker for archiving all sorts of rare stuff like this, despite the content. There’s no way I’d pay that much for it though.

I didn’t pay over $50, I don’t think, for the early scripts I have for Killer Kane and Legion.
