What on earth is this?
Some of you may remember (some time ago now) when Gemini, Ken, Mike (ManInKhakiExorcist) and myself put together a whole list of correspondences or “Blattyisms” that have occurred throughout Blatty’s works. I have since been able to resurrect the list we compiled, and have discovered more since reading the novel of Twinkle, Twinkle, “Killer” Kane. I will be launching a section for these correspondences shortly, and will include precise quotes / images / references, etc, for each element that bears a similarity or connection to something else that exists within the Blatty / existential “trilogy” realm.
Once its launched, I’d appreciate any other input. Nothing beats a nice, meaty archive of William Peter Blatty dogma.
I’d really like to see this. It isn’t out until October in Australia, though.
I can’t begin to describe how awesome this picture is.
I wish ekm’s old in-depth discussion of The Heretic could be recovered somewhere. After reading that, even the most ardent dismisser of Boorman’s film would come to enjoy it to at least some degree. He made so many relevant points that it was almost unbelievable.
That’s quite interesting, Blizzi, particularly the hospital beds taking the form of gravestones. I could even see something similar to that incorporated into the film itself.
Perhaps it’s part of the “lost” Legion footage that has somehow managed to manifest itself into your subconscious. Quickly, everyone pry open Blizzi’s skull and excavate that footage!
I think I grabbed everything that I was missing. Double-check and let me know when you get a chance. 🙂
