ParticipantIndeed. I’ll type it out for you:
11 – Continued:
as the CAMERA gradually speeds up its pace, and is at its loudest, larger than life, as we reach the landing at the top of the steps, a pause. Then, suddenly we are plunging, careening, tumbling end over end down the steps! The SOUND of the SCORE is a terrifying, pulsing ululation created by voices and electronics. 11A – INT. PRIEST’S ROOM ON CAMPUS (SET) – DAWN
A high-ceiling room austerely furnished: a small bureau, a cot, a crucifix on the wall. Kneeling by the bed in prayer is a venerable Jesuit priest (PAUL MORNING, S.J.) whose face is a map of goodness, strength, and wisdom painfully acquired. We SLAM CUT into a CU of his head jerking up from the resting place on clasped hands, his eyes wide in startled and sudden, fearful realization. His hair is a shock of white. In a dread whisper:
MORNING: Dear God, not again!
We then go to a FULL SHOT of the room.
MORNING (CONTD): Not again!

ParticipantAfter reading through the initial pages of the 1990 script a little more, it appears that Fr. Morning was to appear in the opening of the film, paralleling Merrin’s premonition from The Exorcist.
“Oh, no. Not again…”
– Morning

ParticipantIs there any official word on who that actually IS on the cover, and why Blatty chose that of all images?
