I think Cappn-HowD is right. This kind of Appendix to the original, help you appreciate the original even more.
From my point of view, I still expect a new movie from the very beggining, I mean, a movie where for first time the deamon face to somebody like Merrin just 2000 years ago (according to the first minutes of the “The Begining”).
This movie should explain how Pazzuzo came to the earth. I think also, as it was pointed out in the “The Beggining”
Pazzuzo participate in War of the Heavens. It should be fantastic if somebody decide to produce this movie. I can give FREE my private guion-argument. I have already one.
Cheers.I’ve pointed out some weeks ago about the karras’s dream. Well, Granville1 just have given a good interpretation. However, the FACT OF SUCH COMBINATIONS: MOTHER, DOGS, THE MEDAL, ETC, makes us TO US ALSO REMEBER some very stranges dreams we had in the past.
I had really very bad dreams in the past, sometimes I dreamt with my relatives, It was really so sad.
Particularly, the Karras’s dream it have something to do with each one of us, naturally in some extent. I think it.yes, you are partially right.
But, we back to the central point that it is concerned to the comparison between ETB and The Dominion.
Well, I see in your phrases something true, but I CANNOT accept the role of Merrin in The Dominion. It looks like Jesus being disturbed by Satan?? As in a passage of the Bible, Jesus is in the desert and after of several weeks, The Satan appears there, and he try to bring to Jesus to the bad way. It is more or less in the Dominion!! Merrin is the Church, and the demon talking in hir ears…and so on…
It is really so much to think that Merrin emulate in certain sense to Jesus.I think ETB is 10 better than Dominion, for several, very solid, reasons.
Dominion has another argument, it makes more soft in certain sense, like a standard movie. I do not find any relation with “The Exorcist”, the first movie (1973). The movie brings to Merrin into another enviroment, too far from the central point: A STRONG POSSESION, i.e., the drastic change of people when they become possesed by demons, like Reagen for example.
In effect, this STRONG POSSESION, makes actually a true movie about exorcist.
Shaking the bad, diabolics faces, different voices, etc, like The Exorcist, the first movie, makes a big
difference with the The Domminion.
I prefer to keep ETB, as a history linked to The Exorcist. I do not see any special ingredient in the Dominion.
I do not completely agree in the scene where Merrin found a perfect clean Church, despite of the fact of 1000 years of existence. Very bad production, In addition, the movie lacks of reality, and very scenes are in some extent very soft, leading to upset the public, waiting for the exorcism, it is A STRONG EVER CONFRONTATION BETWEEN THE GOD AND THE EVIL.Dear Jenny,
Damian was actually a typical guy whom is happy living with parents. Of course, is not bad to live with dad and mom, but he apparently was a sucessfull scientist attending J.Hopkins and Harvard. Independently of the demon’s hands, Damien decided for the reason which Ghetto and Gainsville commented in this forum: because its love to the faith, vows of poorly.
Nevertheless, the person of Damien is in some extent a reflect of the Blatty life. Damien loved so much their mom. And he loved so much his passion for the religion.
For example; on the scene:

Damien wanted a SECOND TIME of such “miracle”.
OF COURSE, if you see somedoby to move objects without touch it, what you can thing? It is a miracle? If you are a religious people, naturally it is!

I have the felling that Damien’s mom, had something to do with the deamon. It is only a speculation, please.

Reagen’s father was in Europe
when the possession was achieved. So, two things very incompatible.Respect to Karras, there is still things that cannot be understand. Well, he was a poor priest. According to this logic, we can conclude:
– 3 different personalities was living inside Reagen (as it was proved
by Karras, i.e, the scientific side)
Captain Howdy, Karras’s mother,
and an old demon who already knew details of Karras’s spirit.
– Only 1, i.e, the same demon who already fighted with Merrin, and was
waiting to him, to fight again.
Speculations inside the logic are welcome.
