Hi Fatherbowdern, I think the sauerkraut was the breath. The demon, after having a loud diarrhoeic “business” (LOL I forgot the term in English, sorry), asks Karras if he is disturbed by that. Karras admits he is.
I never saw the German parody on youtube.
You could see Regan on the bed and hear the sounds you can imagine.But actually in the movie you can hear Burke’s voice from Reagan: “Do you know what she did, your cunting daughter?”, referring to the fact she has killed him.
Correct me if I am wrong. Or do you mean it should have been more often in the movie?I am not Sophia, but I can tell you it was for sure the breath. Maybe you are confusing the part on the book where Karras visits Regan before the Exorcism and she starts (mmmh I don’t the right term in English) having diarrhea (and she asks if he is annoyed by that).
Such a scene wouldn’t work in the movie because as soon people hear this kind of sounds,they start to laugh.
But I remember a short German parody of that scene and they really did the diarrhea stuff.Yesterday I saw a wonderful Korean movie that was actually defined as trash (I wonder why) by channel Arte (Germany). I saw it in HD.
It is from 2003 and in 2009 an American remake called the Uninvited will come out. I really suggest you to see the original one. You will jump on the chair sometimes… It is scary but also very intellingent. So intellingent that I had to google to really understand the story. Don’t read the Wikipedia site before seeing it because they describe the story in every detail.Yes! I just bought a wonderful toshiba HD TV and a blu-ray player. I am still under shock after seeing the beauty and the perfection of HD images. Yesterday I looked at the “normal” DVD of The Exorcist, but it isn’t that good (anymore). A blu-ray is needed!
I have always seen them as soon I got the DVD version. I like to look for bloopers and mistakes and I always find them so many (not in the Exorcist…) On the screem I didn’t noticed them because I was too young and too scared…
PS: Lunuso, you have changed your name… I hope it was not because of my comment…I agree with lunuso 100%: they should cast relative unknowns in order to add to the film’s realism. No stars at all.
