ParticipantI believe it was a prank. The kid wanted out of school and he played along till it wasn’t fun anymore. I think he is probably ashamed of it and that is most likely why he won’t discuss it.
The diary is online and I copied it to my hard drive. I just can’t remember where the link is.I posted it on the old Bloody Disgusting Exorcist board a few years ago.(When tha Cap went on hiatis)
Most of the more unquestionably surpernatural events were told to the priests by the boy’s family.
The only thing you could consider supernatural in the case was the welts on the boys skin. There is one point in the diary that isn’t played up tto much. The priests actually caught him scratching his own skin.
There is a trick you can do yourself much like this. Take your thoubnail and scratch the fleshy part of your forearm. (Not enough to bleed or make a strong mark even.) Wait about a minute and then rub the area. Whatever you scratched will raise up a bit and turn red. (There are some magic tricks that use this bit.)

ParticipantI think it will hold up no problem.
I loved it and so far it’s been the closest to the source material. I’d still like to see if Frank Miller pulls off “The Spirit”. Then maybe he can do “The Dark Knight Returns” even though all the movies have picked at that meal for ideas…..

October 20, 2005Editor’s note: Baldwin Circuit Court Judge James H. Reid issued a permanent restraining order Oct. 13 that bars Orlando and Glynis Bethel from the Daphne Public Library until the couple goes to Reid’s courtroom and asks him to change his opinion. Daphne officials asked Reid to issue the order after they claimed the Bethels harassed library employees. The Bethels say they were targeted by library employees for using library computers to view anti-homosexual Web sites.

8JudgeStreet preacher, wife claim restraining order squelches freedom of speech BAY MINETTE – Baldwin County Circuit Judge James Reid on Thursday issued a permanent restraining order barring a controversial street preacher and his wife from the Daphne library.
It is the second restraining order issued this year keeping Orlando and Glynis Bethel out of a public facility in Baldwin County. Earlier this year Reid issued another order barring them from within 200 feet of Loxley Elementary School, said Baldwin County Board of Education attorney Scotty Lewis.
Bethel and his wife have been in and out of the news in Alabama since 2002, after a fight broke out when Bethel told mourners at his wife’s uncle’s funeral that the deceased was in hell. They also have gained notoriety for proselytizing against Santa Claus, unsuccessfully suing a local television station and denouncing Baldwin judges as wicked.
According to Thursday’s order, the Bethels cannot set foot on library premises or interfere with library employees or patrons without going back to Reid’s courtroom and asking him to change his decision.
Daphne City Attorney Jay Ross said the order does not bar the Bethels from any other city property.
“I hope they don’t come back, and if they do, I hope there won’t be any problems,” Ross said Thursday.
Daphne filed for the restraining order Oct. 5, after an incident in the library in which the couple created a disturbance by videotaping patrons and raising their voices, Ross said.
Reid granted the restraint request Thursday after the Bethels did not appear to defend themselves.
Glynis Bethel said she and her husband did not want to waste their time in the courtroom because they believe Reid would have ruled against them regardless of whether they appeared.
The Bethels framed the issue not as one of disruption, but of civil rights. The couple said the restraining order is just Daphne’s attempt to squelch their right to free speech.
“If you harass us, if you take away our constitutional rights, you’ve got a fight on your hands,” Glynis Bethel said.
Glynis Bethel said the problems began about a year ago, when she took three of her children to the library to use the computers to log onto the Internet. While there, she logged on to an anti-homosexual site that a librarian told Bethel she could not view because it was pornographic, Bethel said.
When Bethel and her children later returned to the library, police were called to keep them out, Glynis Bethel said.
The Bethels have filed a notice of claim against the city. Glynis Bethel said she and her husband are currently preparing a 50-page lawsuit they will file against the cities of Daphne, Loxley, Robertsdale and Mobile in connection with alleged civil rights violations.
Earlier this year, Reid issued a permanent restraining order barring the Bethels from within 200 feet of Loxley Elementary School and a walkway near the school, Lewis said. The injunction came after Orlando Bethel allegedly stood near the school just before Christmas break 2004 wearing a devil’s mask and holding a sign reading “Repent sleepermonger,” Lewis said.
“His conduct was interfering with the operations of the school,” Lewis said.
The Bethels first gained attention in the summer of 2002 when Orlando Bethel told mourners at the funeral of Lish Taylor that the deceased was in hell because of his sinful life and that the mourners risked joining him. The comments set off a melee that resulted in criminal assault charges against Bethel and three other men.
In December 2002 Bethel arrived at Loxley’s Christmas parade dressed in a Santa outfit and planning to preach his view that “Santa Claus is Satan’s Cause,” according to reports.
In March 2004, the Bethels filed a federal defamation lawsuit in Mobile against WPMI-TV 15, anchor Peter Albrecht and reporter-anchor Mike Rush. That suit was thrown out in July 2004.
And earlier this year on Jan. 11, Orlando Bethel stood outside the Baldwin County Courthouse holding signs saying “Wicked Judge Repent” and “Corrupt Law Officers Repent,” according to records. Bethel was collecting signatures for a petition to vote several judges out of office.

November 20, 2004Here’s a different version of LA Law, as in Lower Alabama. We are advised by our correspondent in Baldwin County, home of the Gulf Coast’s celebrated Redneck Riviera, that a civil action has been filed in U.S. District Court by Orlando and Glynis Bethel. So what, you say? Well, read on. The Bethels are what people in LA call holy rollers — religious fanatics. They are mightily upset with the town of Loxley, the mayor, the municipal judge and just about everybody else in an official capacity for, the Bethels allege, trying to suppress spreading the Gospel on public property. The Bethels are pulling out the big guns for this one. In a court filing, they dismiss a federal judge and a magistrate as “wicked” and town officers as “corrupt.” Warming to their work, the Bethels then go on to denounce the lot as “lying bastards” who are in for a rude awakening at the hand of the Almighty. As the Bethels so succinctly put it, “All of you sinners and heathens … need to repent before GOD for lies and wicked actions or deeds.” Whew — you can almost smell the brimstone. The Bethels may think they are right with powers unseen, but in federal court they might need a friend or two among the principalities. While declaring the imminent arrival of the terrible swift sword, they say in their civil action that Federal Judge William Steele is “highly opinionated and possibly senile.” Somehow, we don’t think the Bethels quite get it. You can call a federal judge wicked, a playground bully and a lot of other nasty things, but it takes a dim bulb indeed to say he is senile. Stayed tuned. We’ll keep up with the Bethels, or down, or whatever.

Author: BEA HINES / Herald staffIf you have a teenager and you want to have a down-to-earth talk about premarital sex and teen pregnancy, but you don’t know how to start, Glynis Bethel has published a booklet especially for you. It’s called Sex Talk.
Bethel is vice president of New Life Gospel Productions, a nonprofit Christian youth organization based in Miami. She got the idea for the book from the “Be a Model for the Gospel” workshops she sponsors for teen girls.
The booklet is 79 pages of straight talk, questions and biblical answers about sex.
A sample question: “My mother gave me birth control pills; is it OK for me to have sex now?”
Bethel’s answer: “No. It is not OK for you to have sex . . . just because your mother gave you birth control pills.” She suggests reading Leviticus 19:29.
The mother of five children, Bethel is a former model. She said she is often asked by young girls to help them become models.
“I’d rather help them focus on being a role model for Jesus . . . which entails sexual purity. Abstinence is safe sex. As a result, the Lord laid it on my heart to not only do Christian etiquette and modeling workshops, but also to write this book, which is an evangelistic sex talk booklet based solely on the Bible’s teachings,” she said.
Bethel has a bachelor’s degree in communications arts and has postgraduate specialized training in education from the University of Miami.

ParticipantHmmmm. I thought this might be interesting because any movie about possession will be compared to the best. Therefore possession movies will always be compared to “The Exorcist”. It was the first and still the best. (Duh!)
Other movies in the genre could be covered. General horror, I would vote no. My 2 cents…..
etrigan69
ParticipantI can’t say for absolute certain, but I am fairly sure this was never shot. It doesn’t take place in the book so it wouldn’t have been “highlighted in the book for Friedkim’s script.
Maybe they shot it but I doubt it. There are larger completists here that can be absolutely certain I’m sure.

ParticipantSorry Cap. I’m done posting on it. It’s all pretty lame anyway……

ParticipantI just got a copy of “Abby” a couple of weeks ago. The outfits in that thing were hilarious! I thought it was really funny that it pulled an “R” rating back in the day.
The language wasn’t even that bad. No nudity what so ever. No gore or even real violence. A lot of bad fashion choices though……

ParticipantI actually figured out what OHMB means.
Here’s a hint. One semi-decent but slightly overrated 1st movie, and a whole crapload of shitty sequels. Discuss…..
Your formula for posting is a sleeper. If anyone calls you on your bullshit, call them a “Zombie sycophant” endlessly until it gets deeply repetetive. Sprinkle on some internet muscles, and there you have the recipe. There is no longer any need for you to post about this any longer. I can just do it for you……
etrigan69
ParticipantI am still seeding it for a couple more days…… off and on as I need my full internet connection….
