Did… did you actually type Jaws 2? Is that like a TEST to see if someone could spot the film you were bluffing about?

I didn’t like it at all. Thinking back… nope, not even a little bit entertained by it. My wife didn’t like it, either.

    Nice effort. Poor film.

Greg, I agree, Jaws 2 did ‘follow suit’ as far as the original Jaws story went – but you can’t seriously lob it into the same basket as Aliens and T2. Those sequels were BETTER than their originals. Jaws 2 was not.

Hell, even Heretic followed The Exorcist storyline. Jaws 2 was the first successful sequel of this nature. But in no way was it better.

    It’s fantastic yet very exahaustive!

The author at first seems very impartial to the material. But upon further reading, one can tell he just might be convinced himself.

For those not in the know, this was one of the books Blatty used in his research while he was writing The Exorcist.

My dad bought the reprint back in 1974 (it was originally published in 1921) during the Exorcist craze.

In the Exorcist novel Karras himself uses P&E for his own research on Reagan!

You should also check out these books:

The Exorcist (BFI Modern Classics) By Mark Kermode

The Story Behind The Exorcist By Peter Travers and Stephanie Reiff

They’re wonderful books for any fan of the original film.

I agree with your point that the original is flawless and un-touchable, but you really should check out the sequels. If anything, they help you appreciate the original even more!

I actually liked Constantine and Hellboy. I also like The Exorcist, sure Constantine and Hellboy are not as carefully made like The Exorcist. But they are entertaining all the same…Constantine is not about a Exorcisms or a Priest losing his faith like The Exorcist…. sure it has a Exorcism but it’s not used as the main event like The Exorcist, the Exorcism in Constantine is used as a introduction for the character John Constantine and I don’t even think Hellboy is in the same ballpark as The Exorcist. It has a Demon in it but it’s more about the supernatural rather than a Exorcism or God, it doesn’t even have a Exorcism in it.
Case and point: Constantine & Hellboy were never trying to be like or relate to The Exorcist but should be looked at as a separate movie. Rather than compared to The Exorcist, just because they have a Crucifix in them does not mean that they are trying to take something from The Exorcist

We would NEVER be able to feature the entire thing as a download. But we could feature highlight clips.

Hell, if we could make entire featurettes available for download, we would have had The Fear of God up on the main page YEARS ago!

Yeah it would just be two movie-length episodes like a normal mini series – NOT a 22 episode 30 minute series like you might be thinking.

For reference: The Shining mini series remake.

I keep hearing whispers about this actually being green lit.

The fix is part of the next update for this software programming – something that is out of my hands.

This fix is not far away at all, as I understand it. It will also include many more forum features. You’ll notice when it happens!

^^ NOOO! Say it isn’t so?! Sad if in fact true. I guess it boils down to personal taste. I still believe she is attractive.

Movies about exorcisms are rubbish (lately). Case in point: Constantine.
