TYNS – on DVD R2
& I’m sure there’s something else…
**I wish I taped The Fear of God from when I was a film student. It was the complete doc from BBC 2 with the excluded McCambridge interviews intact!
For anyone oustide of England – this doc originally aired in 1998 when the film was re-released to cinemas 🙂Jason Stringer
Keymasterif your looking i would love a copy of both and can offer in return
the fear of god with mc cambridge footage and a ch4 doc didn’t you used to be satan about Blair and the life she has led.?Jason Stringer
KeymasterRyan. Could it REALLY be? Wow. I thought you were gone forever! Great to hear from you, old buddy.

KeymasterI don’t believe the Creek will make another sequel. They’ve been badly burnt by their attempts at creating a new story/film. If anything – my bet is on a remake, or as they call it now, a re-imaging. It’s an easy way to make easy money in the theaters.

KeymasterI thought Fr. Morning died in E3?

KeymasterLooks like Gorillaz are fans of The Exorcist. Or Pazuzu, at least.

KeymasterAnd you had to come here to brag about it? 😛 just joking.
I think I’ll settle for the 25th version, there’s nothing else I can do.
Unless… would someone be willing to share the dvd, create a torrent or something? I know it’s illegal, but even though I’d love to buy the movie, I just can’t find it!
PS: If any admin thinks this should be removed, go ahead, I understand.
Thanks!

KeymasterDoes anyone know why Warner Bros. felt the need to “enhance” the 25th Anniversary DVD and tint the majority of the film with a bluish hue? Seeing the comparisons between the two DVD versions, I much prefer the original colors. They do, indeed, look more natural and add a realism to the film that the 25th Anniversary DVD lacks. All that blue is so distracting! Especially in the exorcism scenes!
Peace,

KeymasterWell, I rented the 25th anniversary version and it’s already blue 🙁
I’ll guess I have to find the original dvd somewhere.

KeymasterThe only explination I can give is that Morgan Creek had no clue what the fuck they were doing during their ‘let’s make a prequel’ phase. Any in-depth cross-examination is in vain because there is NO WAY they thought that far ahead.
They just wanted a movie in theatres with EXORCIST in the title so they could bring in the money.
…and it did. Sadly.

KeymasterI keep banging on about this but the original WB release is the ‘original’ version shown at cinemas. Its lacking in the extras dept though.
Jason Stringer
KeymasterI’m not sure I understand? Regardless – my opinion is that the 25th Anniversary DVD is one of the best original versions of the film available on DVD today. The colours are natural and the sound isn’t over-done. I believe it’s as close to the original as you can get in decent quality.

Keymasterhatter76, that would be fantastic, I think it’s what should have been done in the first place.
Howdy: thanks, that’s exactly what I asked 😉 I’ll look for the 25th anniversary version.
Thanks a lot!!

KeymasterHappy Birthday, Paul – and just to be different, I am going to thank you for writing Taxi Driver. Brilliant.
