basic forum MIKE, getting too fancy drains my time and resources and that’s what made CH.com fold in the past.

    Keeping it simple now, mate.

Yes, (presumably) it was Regan. Kinderman spots Regan moving around her room, despite Chris saying “She’s heavily sedated…”. Seeing Regan move around her bedroom contradicts this. The scene just help to illustrate that Kinderman doesn’t really believe Chris.

No, I don’t think that the demon (Pazuzu) was removed at this point. I believe, for the sake of a film-viewing audience, we see Karras’ eyes and features return to normal as he screams “NO!” to help illustrate the fact that his Faith is once again strong. So strong that his soul could surface above the demon (whil Regan’s could not). This moment of Faith being superior gives Karras the will to leap through the window.

One issue I always had was the suicide is a sin. Technically (by the book), suicides go to Hell. But what if the suicide is for a greater good as in Damien Karras’ situation?

Professor M, welcome to CaptainHowdy.com and thanks for signing up.

I see your point about the original, but I don’t see them as ‘flaws’. Having read the book and knowing the full context of Blatty’s story – yes, one could point out many ‘flaws’ with the film. However, for the majority of film-goers who hadn’t read the book, the film ties up nicely. I think Friedkin did a great job removing what was necessary and keeping the original nice boxed as it was (as a film – not as an honest representation of Blatty’s complete story).

This is also why I am in favor of a mini-series.

Those blood-piercing strings during the HELP ME frames have popped up in a few films – either as a direct rip or a ‘cover version’. The Shining comes to mind, but I don’t recall when… there are others, too.

I have always wondered that, also. I thought it may have been a character from an old TV show or an old film or something — but haven’t had any luck finding any results.

He would have turned into a psycho possessed killer like Jason or Myers or Freddie and had about four sequels.

    Oh, hang on…

There was never any official soundtrack released for Legion, no.

Jenny, Howard is not mentioned in the film – only in the book. This is the most commonly-made connection for Pazuzu choosing to use Captain Howdy as his alias as it sounds very close to Howard, helping Regan feel comfortable with the name.

I believe it is definitely Pazuzu in the original – and I like to think it is also Pazuzu calling himself Gemini in Legion. Remember – the demon is a liar! 😉

stopstealingmyimage, scan an image and put it online – consider it shared with the world.

I have many, MANY scans and screen-caps on this site that have been used all over the internet; so I understand how offended you might be.

However this image is now in the public domain, and I have freely posted it.

I did not ‘steal’ it. We have many visitors each day who submit many items for posting. It arrived in my inbox and I used it. Like I said – it’s in the public domain the second you post it online…

It’s not like people have ‘dodged’ your online auction. It’s a low-res scan, anyhow.

    Thanks for visiting CaptainHowdy.com

Prove the image is yours and I will happily hyperlink to where-ever you wish.
