KeymasterActually, Tyler – it is being remade by the original filmmakers. But still, I’m sure most of us would prefer a fourth installment to the series instead of a remake.

ParticipantYou’re right about that Justin. That would really ruin everything

ParticipantA Evil Dead Remake? WHO DECIDED TO DO THAT!!!!!
May 7, 2006 at 11:59 PM #14492Tyler Durden
ParticipantI dont think that they should remake the Evil Dead. But in the case that the original makers are remaking it…well i supose i can let that slide. Maby they thought that they could better there original with todays modern technology. kinda like King Kong…ya follow?

ParticipantI like them both, but I actually think the remake has a slight edge. Might not feel as brutally realistic and unrelentless, but I like it a little beefed up and more modern.
And as for The Omen, that’s actually a remake I look forward to seeing in the theatre. If it’s lousy, the original will still exist in my collection.

ParticipantIt seems like everybody likes the remake better here

ParticipantI really enjoy remakes.I know all remakes are not all that great but it updates the films and the best part about it is you can always return to the original!

ParticipantI completely agree with you Euphoricvg!
And I really enjoy watching both films at the same time, makes for a splendid evening.May 17, 2006 at 11:59 PM #14697Jenny
ParticipantI can understand why they would remake films but some should definatly be left alone. ED is one and should never be touched in any way. A 4th yes, as long as Bruce could be persuaded to be there! As for TCM, I love the original cos you just cant beat them, but really liked the remake too. I mainly liked it cos instead of just re-hashing the film they changed things so it wasnt the same. Like the hitch hiker etc. I like the ending too. It was nasty though and I still cant watch the bit where Leatherface drags thingy (cant remember his name!) down the stairs and he bends his nails back trying to stop himself! Urgh!! Nasty scene!

ParticipantYeah, that scene with Mike Vogel. That’s just brutal

ParticipantI love that nailscratching thing! 🙂
They are basically ripped out entirely..
My nail looked the same when I got it slammed in a car door as a kid.But to get back to TCM, I look forward to seeing The Origin with Brynarski showing how Leatherface came to be so sinister.

ParticipantI didn’t know that Andrew Bryniarski was gonna be in The Origin. He’s definietly my favourite person to play Leatherface

ParticipantHey all. New guy here.
The original by a long shot. You can’t beat the dirty and gritty look it has. The look of the film makes it seem more real. But, I did enjoy the remake and own the dvd. I’m looking forward to the prequel too.
Anyone one heard of “South Texas Blues”? It’s a documentary/movie about “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. It hasn’t been released yet, still in production. The concept is really cool. Fans of the original should check it out.
Check this out too. The original house is now restaurant open to the public. Go to this link and then click on Restaurant Information…
As far as The Evil Dead (a true great), Evil Dead 2 was a remake of the first. So is the 4th installment going to be another remake??
August 14, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15510Pagan
ParticipantIs this documentary gonna air on television or be released on dvd? I really wan’t to see it.
I didn’t know that the original house had been turned into a restaurant. That’s cool.
