ParticipantSaw 1 was boring, cliche and the acting had me in fits. I liked the second one much more.

ParticipantI love Saw 1, and Saw 2 is very good.
Might not be a good thing in some ways, but with like Friday the 13th back in the day, I say bring on more sequels! 😛May 18, 2006 at 11:59 PM #14709Pagan
ParticipantI agree with Justin

ParticipantI am curious as to your comments about Saw being cliched. What other film could you compare it to? There was no plot that could be attributed to other horror films. No serial killer stalking teens. No axe weilding psychos. No demons, werewolves or vampires. I am puzzled Justin. And Slash, I agree. They could go a lot further with these!

ParticipantI thought they were really interesting and entertaining. I liked the first one a lot better but I don’t get when people say it’s one of the most scariest films of the last few years – it just isn’t scary o.O

ParticipantI dont think it is particularily scary but the words sick, twisted and evil spring to mind!

ParticipantOh, “Saw” was not cliched. Calling this garbage “cliched” is giving it too much of a compliment.
In the recent outbreak of carbuncles that the remakes of classic horrors are, “Saw” was the “original” cancerous growth. The sequel was marginally better, mostly because it was a tweaked version of a completely unrelated script, and because it plagiarised less films than the first “Saw” had done…

ParticipantWow I guess you didnt like Saw then! What films did it plagiarise? Cos I was under the impression it was quite original. I didnt notice any other films being ripped off.

Participant“Cos I was under the impression it was quite original. I didnt notice any other films being ripped off”
Same. I can’t think of any other films like Saw…

ParticipantThanks guys for agreeing with me about Saw being an original horror. I still keep racking my brains for rip offs but cant think of any. Vess, please put me out of my misery and also create a good starting point for a debate!!! As a woman, I love a good argument!

ParticipantI think Saw is one ot the most original horror movie that has come out in the last few years

ParticipantI like both films 1 was the better of the two i feel….2 was still very goo though…and yes sequels would be good just as they don’t get predictiable.

Keymasteri liked saw 1,i didnt like saw 2 as much.
at begining of saw 1 first thing that poped into my head was shit acting.July 6, 2006 at 11:59 PM #15242ManInKhakiExorcist
ParticipantSaw 1 was to Saw 2 what Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist was to Exorcist The Beginning. Or it that a bit harsh? Anyway, Saw 1 was more psychological than “scary”, which Saw 2 beat its predessor at being. Let’s face it. 🙂
Okay, you know the drill… Flame away! 😐

ParticipantI’ve only seen Saw 1 & I thought it sucked. It felt like it was made by a 15 year old who was trying to out do SEVEN. For me it wasn’t scary, clever, deep or original.
*SPOILERS*
I mean that bit at the end where the guy chops his hand off, that was so dumb. Espcially when the other guy at the start of the film took off his jacket to get something. Just dumb.
