Hello Exorcist fans,
This is my first post here – I thought some of you would be interested in the 40th Anniversary (unofficial) HD preservation of the original version of THE EXORCIST, available to download on my blog : http://drsapirstein.blogspot.fr/
Info, details and screengrabs are available there. Please make sure FanEdits are legal in your country before downloading it. Reminder: You need to own the official release of a film before downloading its fan-edit or its preservation, but I'm pretty certain everyone here owns at least one release of The Exorcist!

The 1080p BluRay remux is about 50gb and I can't upload it nor seed it in a satisfactory manner for the time being, sorry.
Pity, as I rather like what you’ve done with the film.
My memory says you’re a little bit off with the colour balance, I remember it being a tad less greenish more of a golden hue. However that said, memory is far from reliable and this is much more the way I always remember the movie looking. It’s certainly far better looking to my eyes than any of the releases over the last 15 years.
It’s definitely a better viewing experience than the harsh (to my mind) blu ray, which despite being an improvement over the 25th anniversary release has some awful grain/contrast issues and often hurts to look at. Yours hangs together as a whole really nicely rather than feeling like a collection of visual enhancements.

Just thumbed through this version since I just watched the Blu-Ray four days ago. This is a much better version in my opinion. The color is on and I wholeheartedly believe the make-up color was meant to be seen this way. The Blu-Ray looks too colorful to my eyes. Even the Merrin makeup looks better. Are you listening WB!? You want me to purchase yet another version of this movie then give us what we want! This is much closer in tint to the way I remember the original!

Hey Sof,
I checked for you too and the blog now reads:
“Due to a copyright complain from WB, all download links to this film had to be erased from this blog.”
If I had it, I would surely upload for you on some other location besides here because WB gets their panties in wad quite easily over their treasure (and rightfully so). Sorry.
