Yeah it does sound quite similar but it doesn’t sound like the exact music. It being a different company producing the film would unlikely pay the rights to use the same music so the composer was probably instructed to sound like the Exorcist without it being the exact same thing. The remake of the Omen however uses the exact same Muslim chant that is used in the beginning of the film. I don’t know if that music is copyrighted by Warner because it may actually be a real Muslim chant. I’m no expert though.

Those blood-piercing strings during the HELP ME frames have popped up in a few films – either as a direct rip or a ‘cover version’. The Shining comes to mind, but I don’t recall when… there are others, too.

I was watching the trailer for The Grudge 2, enjoying the Vividas player fully (click on Watch the full screen trailer) when I noticed that the music sounds very familiar in the flashing sequences.

Indeed, it’s from The Exorcist, when Karras sees “help me” on Regan’s chest.
