There was drama at my daughter’s school when screenshots from private stories started circulating. Some kids got into serious trouble. Since then I’ve been thinking more about online safety. I want awareness, not control. How do parents monitor private Instagram stories without installing spyware on their kid’s phone?

That’s rough, we had something similar last year – one girl shared a “close friends” story, someone screen-recorded it, and boom, whole class drama. What helped me wasn’t spying but staying aware. I sometimes check public patterns and talk openly with my kid about what “private” really means online. Also stumbled on private story viewer instagram not invasive, just gives a sense of how content can still be seen. Honestly, conversations + trust go way further than control.
