I can’t wait. The SAW movies are nothing like THE EXORCIST or its good sequels, but I think they live up to being thrillers; meaning they either thrill ya, or they don’t — when it rains it pours. And thus, they’re thrillers you can return to again and again. It’s not just… see, rent, buy, watch it once and that’s it. No, in fact, it’s like the STAR WARS of horror… IF–I may be so bold.

For “torture porn” or “slasher genre” movies, what people take pleasure in labeling them, they have a ridiculous amount of suspense, believeable dramatic acting — granted, some more than others, but it’s not a documentry featuring characters sharing one personality and history; it’s fiction, and amazingly its characters SELL IT, quite well! — (from actors whose characters have actual arcs from the beginning to the end of one film and/or over the span of the series), it’s astonishing. Ludicrous.

Indeed, you either like ’em or ya don’t, much as I’d love it if more of you guys did! 🙂

What will seal the deal for me is if SAW IV manages to match the entertainment value of its prequels, takes it to the obligatory next level, AND all with its anti-hero — JIGSAW — deader than… my future corpse! 😮
