I saw it back at a cinema when it first came out in 1974 and at the age of 17 I considered myself to be a ‘ Horror Fan ‘ who wouldn’t be overly scared at all.Let me say I didn’t ‘watch’ that movie as much as I ‘endured’ it.by the time it was over I felt that I’d actually been in Regan’s room the whole time and gone through everything her mother did.I never slept that night and to this day, as much as I still love horror movies, nothing has come close to the effect the Exorcist had -and still has- on me.It totally stands alone in my opinion.
