    Thanks for your replies!

I have indeed gone through the sound congfiguration options on my set-up and the other TV downstairs but had no joy. Definitely cursed!

Blizzi – Very interesting indeed. I will have to try playing it on my laptop and see whether I can hear it if I plug the headphones in. Something must be afoot…

    Not a problem Blizzi 😉

Dracula (1931) is an absolute classic, though I was given a VHS copy as a birthday present a few years ago that had this new score throughout it… I wasn’t impressed. Don’t know if anyone else has come across that version?

Beetlejuice – what can I say? “Learn to throw your voice, fool your friends, fun at parties!”

Etrigan69 – funnily enough, I was thinking about the remake of 13 Ghosts the other day – in my opinion a rare good remake. I also liked the new approach to ‘House on haunted hill.’ My little confession is that in all my years of watching horror films, I actually jumped when watching the remake of ’13 Ghosts’ 🙂

Despite everything that has been said, I think RatBoy’s review has finally convinced me not to waste my money and see Rob Zombie’s ‘Halloween’ remake.

I’m not too keen on remakes of classic horror movies anyway – I refused to see ‘Black Christmas’ last year so I guess I should rely on my gut instinct and take the same approach for this one.

Great idea for a thread by the way.

I always make a point of buying at least one of the titles that made the DPP’s list during the ‘Video Nasties’ scare at Halloween because I seem to enjoy them… for all the wrong reasons I’m sure! So I’ll always end up watching that.

I watch ‘The Exorcist’ naturally, try and squeeze in something from Hammer (generally one of the Christopher Lee Draculas) or if I’ve bought another film, I’ll watch that and end with ‘Halloween.’

This year I’m actually going over one of my friend’s houses with a section of my collection which makes a change as I usually watch the films by myself.
